Recommended iPhone Apps

So there are a ton of apps out there, 90% of them crap, but here are the ones that I use that I think are worth using and as relevant, buying. $ = costs bank.

Games:
Labyrinth ($) - Ball rolling around in a maze that uses the iPhone accelerometer. Very fun, but very frustrating. I can only lose twice before I want to crack my phone in half.
Galcon ($) - Best iPhone game yet. Real-time action strategy on a solar system level. It's very hard to describe, but you can feel safe on a blind buy with this one.

Productivity:
GoalKeep ($) - Just a program that lets you place an checkmark on the calendar for any goal you may have. And then it has a neat animation for "4 day chain!" or however many days it's been. I use this to keep me honest about making sure I bring lunch to work everyday.
Chores ($) - A really slick to-do list. I like it.

Social:
Facebook - the first iteration was crap, but the new one has everything you'd need: news feed, mini-feed, walls, even fully functioning chat.
Twitterific - Yes, I twitter. This apps very cool.

Misc.
Speedbox - uses GPS to determine your true speed. My speedometer 2-3 mph off near 70 mph.
Netshare ($) - This app has been pulled, but it lets you use your EDGE or 3G connection for your computer. And it works. Love it.
Shazaam - Music identification. Surprisingly capable of recognizing a wide variety of songs. Just make sure you have a good internet connection when you use it.

So what are you using on your phone?

Zenbe Lists (free) - Best free "to do" lists that I've used. Multiple people can edit the lists, and it has an internet counterpart, so as long as you sync wirelessly, the lists stay updated. Makes having "things to do during the move" lists actually worth something between two people.

Paid:
Hold em (Poker Apple version): I have had friends pick it up and get yelled at by their wives for not putting it back down...
eWallet: password storage, it seems to have a loyal following and solid encryptions. I have always been dubious of these...there is a free program called lockbox as well.
Units Converter: .99 cents. I am looking at some of the other programs. One of them looks like it has estimates for board feet needed for projects, and the amount of material you would need to cover a space...good for gravel or concrete.

Free:
Save Benjis: Not the dog...it compares prices on the interweb.
Shazaam: Names songs. You can stump it, but it is pretty suprising what it does get.
Wedict: free dictionary
iPint: pour yourself a cold one or send it to a friend.
Here I Am (I also have a paid version G-Spot): send your coordinates to someone.
Pandora Radio: It rocks!
Remote: the itunes remote.
iWant: services nearby..it has been fairly accurate so far. (I also like Whrrl so I can keep tabs on Monkeys debauchery.)
Voicenotes: free voice recorder--very simple. I am trying others. I mainly like the fact that this feature is finally available.

Apps that I am evaluating:
Tides: Tide Tables
Younote: take notes using sketch, pics, or voice memos

EDIT:

Younote is looking pretty solid. You can record, tag, and organize info in various formats. It looks like it geo tags the info as well....so you can know where you were when you recorded it. You can take pictures, scribble notes, use the keyboard, or record....

I have to make a comment here and give serious props to a developer.

This guy went all out to answer my questions regarding his application. He sent me a total of 26 screen shots which included data specific to my region.

Here is a direct link to his webpage:
Welcome

I had asked about his river flow data app for kayakers and wanted to know how specific the data was. Mainly becuase I wanted to apply it to Fly Fishing as well. Apparently he is comming out with a fishing app this fall...in the mean time I am buying this one from a guy who gets massive praise from me in regards to his outstandingly helpful and friendly attitude.

If I can't pay a $1.99 to someone like this I have to get my brain pan checked for leaks again.

Thank you!!

This isn't an app, but I want to recommend the iPhone version of Xbox.com that the Gamerscore blog folks created.

I have to say, pretty snappy and HOT.

I'll be adding this to the iPhone as soon as I get it activated.

Ok, one more, and I really can't recommend this one enough:

Ambiance - (app store link) .99 cents. I can't recommend this one enough. It only costs 99 cents, and already has had 4 updates, each one giving it more sounds. Have you ever wanted to block out the outside noise with something relaxing? If so, get this one.

You can start it and then turn off your phone and it plays endless loops of a relaxing noise of you choice.

You can set a timer, delete sounds you never want to hear (makes syncs faster) and create a favorites list of just the sounds you like.

I can honestly say, it's the best .99 I've ever spent in iTunes.

FYI, the newest version on 1337Pwn Friends List App ($0.00) (sweet Jebus I hate the name) finally lets you import your friends list.

It's not hard to do, but keeping all 100 people on there takes forever for it to load, so I'd recommend cutting it down.

Mobile Fotos ($2.99) (Link) The best Flickr application on the app store. I surveyed a few of them, and this little gem is the top of the heap. It has a nice icon too...

This is the main screen:

From here you can upload to Flickr (from the Mobile Foto camera directly at 1600 x 1200 or from the iPhone camera at 800 x 600), look at your contacts, browse your groups, explore, or search for nearby photos. For me, one of the cooler things is looking at nearby photos, so I'm going to highlight that.

If you click "nearby," you get a bunch of different options that you can manipulate to find pictures around you. Then, it searches for you.

The end result is a collection of photos around your location, including your own that are tagged, for you to peruse. Helpful if you want to see what it's like in an unfamiliar area.

I am, although I don't have as much time to play mobile games as my trip to Seattle allowed. It's definitely fun though, no waste of money in my humble opinion.

Cool, I just picked up Spore and went through the first level. Hopefully I don't waste too much battery life just playin' this thing.

I also have to agree with Rhino on Pandora. That free app is amazing.
