I just found out that my Sprint contract is up on Aug 17th. I thought it was up already... Now I have to wait until then to get my iphone. Will at&t port my number? Can I port my number prior to contract expiration and just pay sprint my minimum amount until my contract expires?

When you port your number from AT&T it effectively cancels your contract with your current service provider, so you'll likely get charged an early termination fee if you did that.

Dang! That Brewing App sounds cool. When I brew my beer, I normally forget to keep good records of the particulars of the batch. And then trying to recreate the beer is impossibile. I'll be getting this one for sure. Plus the price is right!

Some apps are already live...

The App Store is kinda live, live enough that we can see the two applications that Apple has to offer. The first app is called 'Remote' [iTunes link] and oddly enough it lets you control iTunes on your Mac from your iPhone. You can stop, start, and pause music, and browse your library... all via your iPhone or iPod touch. Remote requires the use of a Wi-Fi network, and is free.

The other Apple app is Texas Hold'em [iTunes link], which is the first in a very long list of card games that third parties are going to be making for the iPhone. You can play Texas Hold'em (a type of Poker) against the app's built-in opponents or against your friends over Wi-Fi (your friends must be running Texas Hold'em on their iPhones as well). Multiplayer supports up to 9 players so you can finally get rid of all those messy cards you have! Texas Hold'em costs $4.99.

I'm looking forward to downloading the 2.0 software - which I know I'll have to pay $10 for as an iPod Touch owner - so that I can try out some of the apps. I just need my internet connection up again - thanks to Charter for being unreliable as usual. I can't wait to move in a month and take advantage of the AT&T U-verse internet service. Cable who?
