There are plenty of rumors as to whether or not it will AT&T Exclusive, as some of the rumor sites say that Apple will sell it unlocked for full price, while AT&T will offer it subsidized for $99 with a 2 year contract.
WWDC is right around the corner, so we'll have to wait and see!
Best phone I've ever had.

| I've been keeping tab on the rumors for the sake of my employer, AT&T. I'm hoping we keep it exclusive for awhile longer, at least until we've built out our 3G network to the extent the recent auctions provide. I think we'd see fewer comments like Nuklhed's Verizon one above were that the case. For now, I'm carrying my Samsung a737 and an iPod Touch for my wireless application needs. | | |

I've been pleased with AT&T, especially Visual Voicemail, which I absolutely love. If they plan to upgrade their 3G network like they say they will, I may even upgrade to the 3G phone at some point, although to be honest, I don't really think I need it.

| The ratio of iPhones sold to those activated through AT&T is definitely a much smaller percentage than AT&T would like - no doubt about it.
It's definitely interesting to hear of the regional variances in service though, as I've converted a number of people to AT&T's wireless services, from Verizon, T-Mobile and most predominantly Sprint. Everyone I've convinced to switch is happy they did, but they're also mostly from the Midwest.
But back to the iPhone discussion. Because I don't need the data plan now, that's really all that is stopping me from considering the 3G iPhone when released. Someday in the future I see myself having one. Not sure my fiance does though

I've been waiting a year for this. I already have the store that I'm going to wait outside of, my sleeping bag and more. I've never camped out for anything before, but I will for a 3G iPhone.
CANNOT. WAIT. | |

CANNOT. WAIT. | You may want to be ready in a store when WWDC. Case makers were told to have cases on hand that day. I don't know if that means it will be available that day, but I think it's highly likely.
That, coupled with the absolute iPhone shortage in NYC right now, makes me think they're coming sooner than later.

You have to build your phone for Verizon. Where as Sprint, AT&T and T-mobile can use interchangable phones. It is the way it is Verizon wants to be "special" for "special" people.

| Cory - Sorry for all the AT&T bashing (in other threads). Don't hate me because I can't stand your employer.
Very interesting. If I didn't love my current phone I'd consider one of these if they had a version available for T-Mobile.

Like I said, the major complaints are very regionalized and there are a number of initiatives going to curb those kinds of negative experiences. I take no offense, but if you have an issue you need help with, PM me. I might be able to change your opinion of AT&T
