Work is underway

So, friday night we busted out the beer and busted up 3/4 of my basement drywall ceiling to make way for a drop-ceiling. Finally, I'll be able to hide my speaker wires and have decent lighting! I went and bought all the gear I needed and me and a buddy will put up the grid starting tue. I'll post pics when I'm done. Demo on the rest of the HT space will begin in winter/spring.

The tiles alone were over $300! Thank God for 0% financing....

Yea it feels really good when you get it all done. We remodeled parts of my house last year.

awesome brew, but why did you bust out the old drywall, i thought the drop ceiling would cover it? id like to put a drop ceiling in my living room, hate cathedral ceilings!! is the grid very hard to get done?

Just make sure it's properly braced. A foot below ground for every two feet above, etc.

Mines in my basement. I want to be able to get to all the electrical and plumbing pipes etc. The house is over 50 years old and somethins bound to go awry..ahwry...uh-rye. Whatever.
