Panasonic releases second-gen Blu-ray player at $599

Looks like Panasonic is making sure that the prices for their Blu-ray players are more affordable! Not only are they putting a cheaper player on the market, but it will be able to decode DTS-MA.

To even further the deal, they are including 5 free Blu-ray titles with it!

Looks like the PS3 will not purchased as much for those strictly wanting a blu-ray player. Good for those also that have a stigma against using a gaming console for playing movies.

Question, in USA, can you rent blue-ray and hd movies? In Quebec, it doesn't exist yet.

Yes, Netflix rents both BluRay and HDDVD discs. I have purchased 4 HDDVD titles (b/c I had the HDDVD player first), but have seen many movies from Netflix. Given the prices for purchasing, I'm a renter from here on out! I'm not sure if Netflix delivers in Canada.

Yeah, I'm trying not to buy aside from a few titles.. I find I only watch most movies once.
