OK, it's another dead day at work so I decided to waste some of my life with paint shop. Sorry for the archaic drawing, lol. Here is what I am looking at doing for my screen wall. The screen should end up to be around a 120" diagonal AT 2.40. I haven't finalized what I want to do with the masking, but I'm leaning towards having some acoustically transparent curtains made, and sewing a 1x3 onto the leading edge or the curtain for the border. The curtains would only be the height of the screen, if that makes any sense. The blotchy black area is everything that will be wrapped in GOM.

Yeah, I had to really crank up the flash to get them to show up. I really didn't want to go with an AT screen as they really start to limit the projectors you can use being they are all a 1.0-1.1 gain. I had no choice though when I went with the M60 for a center. I got in on the AVS pre order for the RS20, but I think I am going jump ship and pick up a 1080UB instead. I don't think I can wait long enough for the 20, and the extra cash I save can be used elsewhere in the theater.

Yup, it's an acoustically transparent screen, or AT as it's know by. SMX used to offer the screen only until they got greedy, and now will only sell the entire setup (screen, border, frame) for a nice chunk of money. Fortunately Phifer sells an almost identical version for a great price. It's called the sheerweave 4500, and costs a whopping 250.00 for the material. I'll build the frame again myself out of 1x4's.

I actually prefer not to see any speakers in my theater. That's why I put them behind an AT wall. It's cool when people ask; where is the sound coming from?
