I paid 1,500.00 for the 4805 in '04 and 600.00 for the screen! Damn I hate being an early adopter!

Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Milford, CT. | Is the in72 a step up from the 4805? is it 720p native? If so thats a damn good deal. I paid about $1600 for my 4805 and 110" screen.

Still, great price regardless. The projector alone goes for more than that used on ebay! This is New and comes with a screen
The step up from the 4805/IN72 is the IN76 if interested(quite a bit pricier than the IN72 still).
The cheapest 720p native DLP alternative is the Optoma HD70 Im getting, its 1,000.00. Although its bigger brother the HD72 is dropping in price lately so just more decisions to be made

Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Hill Valley, 2015 Age: 25 | That's definitely a steal. I'm in the market for a bigger image but don't want to spend a ton of money. Even at $800, it's a good deal. I know some of you had the 4805. How was the pic quality with HD material? I'm currently playing on a 32" 4:3 HDTV, so I'm sure it would be a step up from playing games/watching movies.
Just wondering and looking for your guys opinions. For some reason, I don't see many rainbows anymore in stores like Best Buy, even on TVs I've seen them on before. Could I have "forced" myself to see them?
I don't have to have an HD capable display. I see the 72 accepts every format (sans 1080p, which I don't care about), so I'm wondering how 360 games and HDDVD movies would look on it. Spoon, I expect your full opinion. You may very well get me sold on one of these!

Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Ohio | My opinion will never change on the matter. It looks wonderful while accepting 720p. Im getting tired of trying to get people to try them out. Buy one and try it, if you dont like it you can turn around and make a profit on it so whats the harm?
Why do people look for rainbows?! I sincerely believe that some purposely look for them and the result is that they see them. Good thing theres only a small percentage of you rainbow freaks
Im tempted to buy it and sell that screen for 150.00 seperately and sell the projector for atleast 700.00 NIB/unopened. It would sell on ebay with Buy it Now in less than a day guaranteed.

For the price of the IN72, it should be an easy descision.
Look into the price of a replacement bulb and the M1 cable to make sure you have all your costs covered.
Go for it. | |

As far as the M1 cable, I don't believe the In72 needs it. It has composite, svideo, component, HDMI and VGA on the back of the unit. Unless I'm retarded and don't know what I'm talking about.

Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Hill Valley, 2015 Age: 25 | I've made up my mind and am going to purchase it, but I have to wait until late January/early February to get it. Hopefully they'll still be running the free screen deal. I doubt the rebate will still be intact, but $800 is still a steal.
Anyone want to loan me $800?

By Jan/Feb it may be that price without the rebate!
