5.1 Gaming Headsets

Any recommendations?

Most of the sets that I have seen are USB and I am looking for something to use with my Xbox 360 and for watching movies/TV.

I had a set of Trittons but if there was a lot of in game background noise I couldn't hear anyone talking.

I did quite abit of research into theis last year (my wife was nagging me over the "noise" from my gaming), but I ended up not buying anything. I remember that I had found a set (I think Sennsheir's) that had nice online ratings for around $100, but she gave up the nagging (for this at least), and I quit looking.

Thanks Pickle I can always count on you bro...go back to using the coconut wireless 'cuz.

Yeah, Cam that is the exact reason that I got mine. I picked up a pair of wireless stereo Sennheisers and they worked great, but I couldn't use them for gaming online.

Then I picked up the Trittons and I loved the 5.1 audio, solid in that respect. In fact I stopped using the Sennheisers. But the fact that in games with a lot of background noise or explosions drown out voice audio is drown out, or distorted, sort of negates the purpose of a gaming headset.

So I keep hoping to find a set that has a separate voice speaker, and can manage keeping voice and audio separate.

On a side note, she still got pissed when I used the headsets; except it wasn't because my sub was booming anymore. Ironically it was because I was now yelling because I couldn't hear how loud I was being.

I did a bunch of research last night and it looks like these are the best game in town for 5.1 audio and a comunicator for the 360. I had a great talk with Tritton this morning: Awesome Company! I will be posting more details.

hahaha I keep waking my wife up because I am "talking too loud"

My solution? "Put cottonballs in your ears!"

Yeah, she didn't like it none-too-much when I said that... hahahaha

I'm in for TEH WIN in my house, since 1) my wife is a heavy sleeper, and 2) we have a HEPA filter running in our bedroom, so it drowns out any gaming noise I might be generating in the family room.

Although not 5.1 (which really sucks)...I bought these about 3 months ago. Clean, clean, clean wireless sound. Highly recommended. I wear the 360 headset around my neck if I need to speak on-line. The wife and baby are much happier with my gaming now.

I wanted these real bad but could not find an acceptable price after waiting almost 2 months. They can be found for $250 every once in a blue moon. Still monitoring...

Yeah, Tampa that top pair is exactly the pair that I have--solid wireless headphones....just no 5.1 and no communication.

Once we have our review area up and running I will put out a review on the Trittons, I stopped using the Senns when I picked up the trittons....
