| Toshiba HDA2 for $250 Apparently its been reported on at least one other forum that you can purchase a Toshiba HDA2 for $250. The site that is offering it is an adult toy/item shop so not sure how far and wide this deal will reach. And for the record, someone told me about it, I did not find it on my own! Although now that I know about the site I may do a little shopping!!
Here's the link: HD A2 HDDVD Player
Once you get to checkout use the code "PLAY" and you will get 50% off the order. Word is getting out so if you are in the market for one of these jump on this deal ASAP because who knows how long they are going to have them or how long the code will work.
I just found out about it less than an hour ago and figured I would pass it on to anyone looking to buy. Enjoy!

Experience up-close & in-your-face action like never before!
Picture quality 6x better than regular DVDs! It’s like having a front-row seat on a porn set! | I think it's worthy to note while this player may be better in terms of load up time, etc., it lacks the 6-channel output that the HDA1 has, so in order to use the advanced codecs such as Dolby Digital +, TrueHD, and DTS-HD, you will need to buy a receiver that decodes this via HDMI.

| Brad, just as clarification, the Toshiba HD-A2 does in fact process those audio codecs but, since it lacks the 6 channel analog outputs (which most consumers have readily available on the receivers) it can only pass it through HDMI.
Also, if you are dire need for analog outputs on the second generation players, the older brother, the Toshiba HD-XA2, does in fact have 6 channel analog outputs. One of the differences between the XA2 and the A2.

| Thanks for the clarification Jon. I wondered what the difference was between the A and XA series. That's at least one of the differences I guess.
And nice find on the description Brad. That's classic!!

| Yeah, another difference which potentially be a deal breaker for most is the HD-A2 does only 1080i while the HD-XA2 does 1080p.
There might be slight differences internally, better DACs, hardware, etc. but, in my case, if I were to get one, I'd still go with the HD-A2 because it would still work just fine in my situation. (That's a big if I got one, which is highly unlikely at this point!)

That is what you will see now on Peench's favorite site if you are looking for the HD-A2.
They do have a lot of other nice gifts available though.

Welcome back gramps! | Oh yeah! We need to introduce him to JohnW. They can have a battle to see which one is the biggest pervert.
BTW, he did mention that my Sammy had a MUCH BETTER picture than your Mitsu.

| LMAO! No, and how could he. You're sitting at 720p and I'm at 1080p - you know, TRUE HD, not that 720p crap!!
Did you get the pixelation issue addressed? Or at least nailed down as to what is causing it?

I still feel I made the right choice with the 720p over the 1080p.(I paid $1200 less for the 720p). At the distance I watch TV from (12 feet), there is no difference between 1080p and 720p, with the material I watch.

| Yeah, I like to sit 2 feet away from my 57".
Nah, as far as I sit back, I could probably have gone 720 and been fine too. But I'm a sucker for "True HD" and marketing gimmicks!
Sux that its passed thru artifacts. I hope they fix that stuff for ya. I'm surprised more people are not complaining to them.
