I just read at another forum about the alternate ending.. Turns out that I watched the alternate but not theatrical..

I found the alternate ending to be more satisfying, anyway.

I suggest watching the last sequence again just to see what the difference is.

I just watched from the Shrek scene up until the end for the theatrical version. Is there any differences prior to that?

IMO, the theatrical versions ending sucked compared to the alternate ending. They should have used the alternate ending in the theaters. I've read up a little about the book and it seems they could have fleshed it out quite a bit more as well.

I don't remember if there was much more. Their might've been, but you already noticed the big difference.

But yeah, the alternate should've been the theatrical ending, IMO.

I've contemplated picking this up, but I think I may rent it. I have a problem dropping $30 on a movie I may not like.

$18.95 at Amazon and Walmart.. I bought it but a rental probably would have been fine as I like the first 3/4 of the movie quite a bit, the last quarter could have been much better. Still I'll watch it again down the road.

Yes, I thought the original fit better. I think I would have been a little let down with the alternate. I truly believe this movie depicts the way it is going to happen. Maybe not exactly but the general concept is right on.

I hope you are wrong! I've been watching different specials on things like genetically modified fish, in I think it was Korea, where they glow in the dark. Other animals and experimentation as well. Ligers and Tigrons that have short lives due to health issues, etc. Who knows about food modification and how it could result in some issues as well.
