| Surfing the Net on a widescreen LCD I finally unboxed and connected the Westinghouse LCM-22W3 22" widescreen LCD that my wife picked up on Black Friday. long story; she changed her mind about giving it to me, so it's been sitting in her closet since that time, and I've been too busy to deal with her complaining after I opened it, blah blah blah... She got the thing from Target for like $170 and it's retailing these days for close to $275.
Anyway, it's a sweet monitor! I picked up a DVI-D cable from CompUSA last night (only $10 since they're going out of business!), too. I love the widescreen, but I'm thinking I shouldn't be using full screen when surfing, since most websites are designed for either 600x800 or 1024x768 resolution (or something like that.) This resolution is 1680x1050. Some sites (Gmail, for instance) adjust for the window, but that spreads out the distance between columns, and it's frankly too much. So, what are you guys doing for this? Just running multiple windows side-by-side? |
