A lot of them look like they were intended to be found and that they were designed into the game ie some of the ones used to get into the base on zanzibar. Many of the other ones just use a form of the slide jump.

This also is the crap that will ruin Halo MP. Jumps like the ones they are pulling off totally destroys the balancing of a map. So know I have to worry about some shit ball that can jump his way to the top of the map and snipe everyone. Worse yet, jump up there with the damn Oddball or something. Great.

Remember that match we played on Narrows where the whole team was trying to get to that one spot and stay there? It was like shootin' fish in a barrel, something that Crip does in real life.
Last night one of the BTB matches with Blars, M_Theory, Wood, & co. there was some douche trying to jump in Last Resort like this. I just beat him silly.

For most of us here, we barely have the time to learn the controls, much less figure out every spot on every map where someone might do some super-hop thing to get to a spot that the developer didn't necessarily intend to be accessible.
It probably wouldn't be that big of a deal if it happened only when small groups played, but when there are more than 4 per side, sometimes it's really tough to even tell from whence you were smoked. That gets old really fast.
All in all, it just gives people who already have an unfair advantage (time in the maps and time in-game) an even bigger unfair advantage.

Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: Kalamazoo Michigan Age: 19 | I tried to do some of these jumps earlier and I couldn't do a single one, there is some kind of glitch that they do with the geometry they have to jump at just the right time to catch the ledge. I was only able to do one jump and that was the one where you throw the grenade then jump off the launched mongoose.
So I really think that most of these are completely impractical because of all the tries it would take to make these jumps.

None of the jumps put people where they can't be shot at and its not like they can maneuver/ dodge in any of those high up points anyway. And besides, for oddball, they've got a huge arrow of their heads.
For regular slayer and objective (bomb, flag) maps, these jumps are awesome. They take skill to perform and can radically change the balance of power (or at the very least throw people off their game). I do some more mundane jumps myself and they shorten the amount of time it takes me to get across the map.

Besides - I don't play with the GP, so let them jump around like they got a rocket for an a-hole...

As there's noone else in the game, it looks more like a custom game / forge with low grav and extra speed.
I can do most of those jumps with low grav and increased speed.
