Halo 3 Battle pics: Post 'em up!

Well, I've had this idea in my head before release, and GoatMother inspired me to make this thread after voicing his concern for the need of a screenshots thread regarding Halo 3. So here it is!

Please only post screenshots that you have taken from the game yourself. Screenshots from games that you have downloaded from other people are fine, just so long as they are screenshots composed/taken by you in Halo 3.

Awesome. I tried saving some screenies last night but I got nothing. Not sure what I wasn't doing correctly. I had some awesome shots lined up from 4-player co-op too. I'll try again.

How do you get'em off the 360? some ftp client or what?

I'm pretty sure they're saved to Bungie.net, under your profile somewhere, once you "make" the screen shot from whatever Saved Film you got it from.

Yes, you just take the screenie in the replay, and it is uploaded to Bungie.net. At Bnet, you can download the picture file to your computer, and then upload it to the picture sharing site of your choice.

You do have to have a profile over there that is linked to your 'Tag. It's not hard to link them up if you haven't done so already.

Just seconds before Wonder decided that 3 people to a 'Goose was too much. Zoom ALMOST lived by jumping over the rocket, but the explosion got to him. Driving with me gets you killed.

What's odd about that picture, Keezy, is that I don't remember jumping off the 'goose. I thought I was on the front the whole time, up until Monkey's rocket hit us. I'll have to review the film, as I have saved it.

Is there a simple tutorial for saving clips from a film, then exporting to your PC?

Yeah, during the film you were floating around, but you remained at that height. It was like the game knew you were on the 'goose, but couldn't always match up where both of you were.

I can throw one together tonight, but Bungie.net has a bunch of different how-tos. Check out the last weekly update, where they explain how Bungie.net works. Also check out their tutorial on saved films. I think it covers pictures too.

Basically it is:

1. 1. Play Game
2. 2. Watch Film
3. 3. Take picture in film
4. 4. There is an option to rename or autoname. Right after that, it is uploaded to Bnet (I think).
5. 5. Go to your Halo 3 page on Bnet and there is a tab called Hi-Res Screenshots on the left side.
6. 6. Click on your screenshot thumbnail, and it will pop up a bigger version. Click on this version again, and it will ask you to save it to your computer.
7. 7. Download to your PC, and then upload to Flickr, Twango or some other picture hosting site.
8. 8. Post that mother right here!

I am pretty sure the upload to bungie.net is automatic, but I'll check tonight.

hmmm. i did this wrong too. Mine all ended up in my fileshare somehow instead of my pics. Strange. I'll have to go back again and look, b/c i thought I followed those steps exactly!

Frustrating that the pics are there on fileshare, but I can't access them from the net. Seems like they should be accessible from both once you've uploaded them.
