2 vs. 2 game type
So Peench and I decided to do some 2 vs. 2 battles last night. If I was a better player it may have been closer matches. We won one out of five that we played....
VIP is nuts, your VIP can't hide and has to engage. Although I survived as the VIP for one 6min stretch which was totally cool.
Slayer is not bad. However, it can be unbalanced very quickly if you are playing guys that are far superior to you. In my case 97.5% of the population. We did meet a couple of cool very very good guys that we played with for a couple games.
So has anyone else tried this? What do you think?

Ouch is what I think. We got pwn3d something fierce. The two guys we met (nub4life and deathisbk) were really cool and ended up playing with us for the rest of the night. They were beating the hell out of us until I called a truce, then we did some teamkilling and launched dmiller about 100 feet into the air. I wanted to save that film but ended up forgetting to do it before the next match started.
But wow, those were some tough matches to my ego.

When I've played Double Team on Halo 2, the Matchmaking system worked well, and rarely was I "out-matched". I think part of the problem is that not many people have played this gametype yet, so their "skill" hasn't yet been realized by the Matchmaking system. Also, you have the ability to narrow down your desired match to a lower number, but I think the default is "all skill levels". My observation is that it starts at 1-1, but if it doesn't find a match, then it goes to 1-2, then to 1-3, etc. Make sense?

yeah, that appears dead-on. Seems like right now in the beta it's starting out at 1-11, which makes a pretty serious difference (like you're saying, because some very experienced players are just starting out too). From there it expands out even farther if it can't find a match.

I had an okay time with double team. I was playing with random people though. Always better when you are talking and joking with your teammate. Mine weren't very communicative at all.

Keezy and I were dominating Double Team with a ferocity not usually seen in the wild. I love me some Double Team brokeback action.
