Kamakazi Halo...

The other night we're playing Halo 3 and I had a pretty good visual on a kamakazi flyer on Valhalla... thought I'd post it up.

The video quality is awful, I apologize. I need a new camera really, really bad.

Here's my gripe. Notice how the gunner did not die. What? I just ran him through with a Banshee. It was hilarious listening to you all laughing as I was lying there dead though.

That's awesome that it was you, Crip! Yeah, it's hilarious that none of us were killed, yet your body came flopping down in a heap. It made no sense whatsoever. It was great to watch live-- it loses too much in the translation to video and the small screen.

We gotta figure out a better capture method! I'll have to down-res and play the vids at standard def I guess so I can go straight to tape...

I really want a capture card, but they're all so damn expensive.

keezy: Rhino got one for like $50 off ebay. It was a PCMCIA card for his laptop so I imagine normal PCI cards would be about the same price if not less.

I've got a capture card in my PC, but it only has the Yellow or Coax input.

Yeah, the only way to capture is to use the RCA (composite) video cables out of the back of the 360. To do that you have to bump the resolution down to 480i though. If you do, I believe you can output to both the component and the composite cables at the same time so you can play on your TV while capturing.

the nice thing about the "Theater" in H3 is that you should be able to play in HD, then if you want to capture you can just jump down to 480i when you're viewing and capture in that format...

I always hesitated to capture becuase 1) there's very little chance of something really awesome happening when I'm at the helm, and b) I didn't want to play in 480i all night just to record. Shouldn't be a problem now...
