Not at all, man. We were having a hard time figuring out who that second guy that jumped in with you was with... was he with you? We had 11, tossed you an invite, then all the sudden we had 13. I was under the impression you left on your own...

It's always tough. We had 16 jump in the room at once last night and had to ask for volunteers to leave... frustrating thing was, there were a bunch of people who acted like they HAD to be in there, they were looking for a big game. Then after people volunteered to leave (BladeRed left, which stunk, and I think that's when Keezy martyred himself and left too) we played one game and then like 4 people left, leaving us with 8... I was just sitting there thinking "great, all the PGLers leave to make the room work and these bozos play one game and leave!" Rude behavior, imho. But stuff happens...

Hopefully I'll be on some tonight D. Let's get the game on.

I thought you left when you saw the room had 16. We'll see true BTB soon enough, then we won't have to worry about people not being able to start the game. Some of the people that played till the end of the night were fun, some, meh, not so fun. All in all, I thought you were holding your own Quo. Not against me, but you know, you can't have everything at once. Those times you charged me it was because I took your shields down with a grenade, that's your key.

Reading Epyon's post about Quo's save film was awesome. I wonder if Bungie thought about the "football film review" aspect of allowing saved films. I know we can share kills, etc and hone our own skills, but uploading films allows your teammates to give you suggestions to make you better, and also to work on tactics, etc. In theory you might also be able to review the films of opponents to see what their weaknesses are or what they typically do in any given fight and then work towards breaking that down.

Wow, something that simple really gives a bunch of possibilities. That's really cool.

Also really cool of you to share your thoughts Epyon. All of them pretty much apply to anyone trying to learn how to play better so thanks for sharing them!

Hey! No those are JUST FOR ME. Don't be stealin'. The rest of you need to remember to squeeze the trigger harder and longer. Stand still, it helps your aim. And if you see numbers over someone's head, that's a target lock indicator. Shoot that guy. And grenades are pretty useless except in tight quarters.

I need to know when DMill's gonna be on next. I'm out for blood. It's gonna be like those scenes in Braveheart where Mel Gibson's just kinda galloping along through a chaotic battle, no one bothering to mow him down as he focuses entirely on running down and gutting one dude. Heck, I may even paint my face with blue stripes...

On a different note, I hate Big Team Battle. Every match we played last night (and today) was waaaaay too laggy. People kept getting dropped from the game and I was stuck on the "uploading" screen (same as Halo 2's blue screen) many, many times. It is in this respect the only part of this beta that feels like a beta.

Nah, he wasn't with me. I just figured I'd be the hero of the day and leave, save you guys the awkwardness of having to boot someone. I'll definitely be up for some tonight, though.

Things to watch for:
Strafing - I do a lot of this, but I don't move just to the left, I move left 5 steps, right 3 steps, left 5 steps, right 1 step, etc. It prevents my attacker from tracking me and forces them to really know how to aim.
Approaches to the Enemy - There is one particular section where I had an enemy on my radar and started to approach him. We were on opposite sides of a big boulder. He circled to my left and I could have met him head-on, or what I did. I jumped on top of the boulder and got in behind him. After that he was mine. Another time, I knew a sniper was up on a hill watching our base. I crept up on him and then when I was within 5 feet I just opened up with my assault rifle and tore him to shreds.
Waiting on the sniping - I try not to take the first shot I can. Rather I take a split second longer to line up my target and take the better shot. It's almost like aiming on inhale and shooting on the exhale. Also, I gave away my position a couple of times when I took shots early and missed. I had enemies all over me a few moments later.
Melees - I'm slow on the melee on just about every confrontation. I've got to work on this. Also, when you're in close on a shotgun, your automatice response should be shoot melee. No pause. Shootmelee.
Weapon Selection - I try to carry a long range and a short range weapon at all times. This is my style. Primary weapon for me: battle rifle/sniper rifle/brute shot. Secondary weapon for me: shotgun or assault rifle.
Reloading - I usually don't in the middle of a firefight if I can help it. I'll usually just jump to my secondary weapon because this takes a lot less time than reloading. It can bite you in the butt though when after you finish a fight you now have two empty guns that you have to reload as opposed to just one.
Tactics - I'm not the best shot, not the best with grenades, but I try to make Halo a thinking man's game. Outsmarting someone is a different way of killing him than just out gunning him. Essentially, when I can, I try to plan when I'll enter an engagement and how. It gives you more control and that upperhand you wouldn't necessarily have. Or at least this is the mindset I have when I play. You can see for yourself if the results bear this mentality and approach out.

I'm no Halo god (*coughJustintimecough*), but hopefully you'll get a view of how I play the game. Just putting it up because I like helping other people. It's how I got to where I am, watching other people.
