Halo Wars Director And Developer Changed

Peter Jackson has since been removed from the project, and this episode in the series will be moved to the developer Konami. It appears the reason why Jackson was removed from the project involves the movie that currently was put on the shelf for funding. It seemed that he was a little eager in making the movie into a giant paycheck, rather than making a quality game.

But why are they moving to have it developed by Konami rather than Bungie? The trade was made over to Konami so that they could secure the title Metal Gear Solid 4 as an exclusive for the Xbox 360. This will be another blow against Sony and their Playstation 3 as one of their untouched franchises is opened up to other consoles. Konami seemed more than ready to make the trade as the Xbox 360 has a wider console base.

Captain Gordon's Take? I believe that it is a fantastic move. I am very disappointed that the movie was put on the shelf, so this change of direction should ultimately make up for it.

I don't know what to make of it. I initially was excited for this, but I don't know if I am anymore. The hype for Halo in general has dwindled (for me at least). That goes for everything Halo. I am still going to follow this and see what it'll be like, but with headlines like Peter Jackson no longer doing the Halo movie didn't even make me bat an eye.

Maybe that means I am more with you, Gordon. It may just be a fantastic move for them, overall!
