That was an excellent report Keezy, but it was supposed to be on the Swiss Family Robinson, now please take your seat.
It's amazing how little the video actually showed in 7 minutes, but it seems that the Brutes are going to be even more of a bitch to deal with in Halo 3. I agree that they were weak and easy to take down in two though, so I'm glad Bungie beefed them up.
As far as who the woman being escorted in those Halo 2 clips was, her name was Miranda Keyes, Jacob Keyes daughter. If she returns in Halo 3, she will not be voiced by the same actress either.
So, what have we learned?
- Brute tipping over a Warthog instead of boarding... sweet.
- Brute ripping arms off a marine... sweet.
- Brute in bad-ass armor cutting the legs off an elite... sweet.
- Probably temporary Halo 3 menu screen showing the ark... sweet.
- Possibly four grenade types, maybe the fourth being the sheild grenade, see pic.
I wonder now if the sword animations will change and you will finally be able to rip limbs off characters with the energy sword. It may finally act the way it is described in the books.
All in all, cool video, I need more though Bungie. MORE.

When they showed the plain white graphics I was thinking it would be cool if they had some Elites in all white in a snow type level that weren't easy to see. Nice ambush situations, etc.

hmmm somehow watching this footage has made me just slightly less interested in the game. The AI and stuff was definitely interesting enough but, the graphics really didn't look like anything more than the glorified Halo 2 that a few others were saying. It definitely didn't look like the screen shots that were posted a little while ago.
I dunno... still gotta wait until closer to the actual game launch I suppose.

Yeah, the build date looked like Sept 15. It also said "pre alpha".

I'm definitely intrigued. With Halo 3, Bungie really seems to be serious about fixing--what I view to be--the mistakes of Halo 2, while making improvements.
Also, have the brutes always bled green?

Thankfully, Bungie knows how to deal with internet monkeys and all their internet monkey chatter. Here now, is the explanation for all the internet monkeys.
Last night, on December 20th at 2am PST (Pacific Standard Time) the US English version of our next “ViDoc” went live. What’s a Vidoc, you ask? A Video-Documentary. What’s it about, you ask? It’s about Brutes in Halo 3, but before we say more, read the following caveats just so there’s no confusion:
- There are no finished graphics in the documentary, and everything you see is a work in progress.
- The first version of the Vidoc, US English, went live at 2am, PST.
- The rest of the localized language versions were to be parceled out afterwards, hopefully within 24 hours. Please be patient.
- We will make another, non-marketplace version available tomorrow.
- It runs for seven minutes.
- Standard definition and high definition variants will be available.
After the release yesterday, of the seven minute documentary feature, we got a lot of questions (as expected) a lot of praise (always welcome) and a lot of criticism (on the internet! Who’d have thunk it?). Anyway, it was all expected so today we’re going to address as much of the rumor mongering and mi | |
