Mythic Map Pack: Drops 2009

From TGS, all we got from Luke & Co. was that the new Mythic Map Pack will be released in "early 2009."

Maps:

• Assembly
• Citadel
• Heretic
• Longshore (Possibly a Headlong remake?)
• Orbital (probably the map code named Moon Base Alpha).
• Sandbox

The Achievements related to the Mythic maps:

• Hammer Time - On Assembly, get 5 Hammer kills during any ranked or social match.
• Pull - On Citadel, get a Shotgun Spree during any ranked or social match.
• Blades of Fury - On Heretic, get a Sword Spree during any ranked or social match.
• Ghost Patrol - On Longshore, get 3 kills with a Ghost during any ranked or social match.
• Post Mortem - On Orbital, get 2 Death From the Grave medals during any ranked or social match.
• Sandbox Skull - On Sandbox, find the hidden skull.
• Vidmaster Challenge: Brainpan - find all the hidden Skulls on the Mythic maps.

Looks like January (maybe?) may bring some fun after all...

I love the long term support Bungie is giving its baby! I am definitely looking forward to this expansion. I wonder if there are any remakes in there, I can't really think of too many that I'd want. Maybe Beaver/Battle Creek.

Headlong was one of my favorite Halo 2 maps, a remake would be awesome.

With 6 maps, it may be 10-15 bones. Remember, it's MS behind the pricing, so I wouldn't rule out $12-15.

I'm glad there is at least some sense of time for this. Dropping these next year will help people come back to Halo after the bombardment of games this Holiday.

They are normally $10 for a 3-pack right? It would make sense to be $20, but spending $20 at once for an expansion has a pretty big sticker shock. Plus, things are cheaper in bulk! I want my maps Sam's Club style.

Halo 3 shipped with 11 maps. Adding 6 more would be a steal at $15 and would totally fine at $20.

I'd like to take a look at the maps before I pass payment judgement, but I could foresee them being at the $20 price point. I'd still love to see a matchmaking map with 50% gravity (Moon Base Alpha?). I know we can adjust it up in customs, but I'd love to be able to have something like that in the rotation online.

Also, I bet Sandbox will be in the same vein as Foundry. Maybe lots more options.

Agreed on all accounts. I've been waiting to hear more about Moon Base Alpha (Orbital) since I first heard of it's existence. I would love a dark map with Earth and the stars in the background. Think Standoff's sweet background, but space.

People are saying Longshore is either a Relic or Headlong remake. Personally I'd like either. Relic had some great CTF matches. Rushing the spire was a good time.

I think the xbox live experience has made everyones perception of value very crooked.

All they are, are maps. I bet all these maps have been made before the initial release of the game, and their just milking us.
