GM debuts would-be Halo strike vehicle, the Hummer HX concept
Quote:
|
GM rolled out its Halo 3 Warthog doppelganger, the Hummer HX concept amid considerable pomp and circumstance around E85 Ethanol and other green technologies. GM's sales VP Mark Le Neve introduced the concept as a vehicle that'll get the kids to put down their Wii controllers and start climbing rocks IRL. No word on production plans, but we've been expecting a Jeep Wrangler/ Toyota FJ Cruiser competitor for a while. This may be it, though likely without the chain gun and plasma pistol.

that's the first Hummer I'd seriously consider buying.
They mention it as competition for the FJ... I would've gotten one of those had it had a removable top or at the very least a reasonable sunroof. What's the use in a vehicle like that if it's not open-air?

Actually, looking at the concept more, it is an open air vehicle. It looks pretty dang sweet...

Thanks for the link Quo - that looks pretty dang cool. It's a shame more of these concept cars don't make it into production!

Don't know why the top-down thing is so critical for me... maybe it's that I would have trouble with the gun mount otherwise...

As long as the left trigger is the E Brake, I'm sold.

Pretty neat vehicle! I don't see why something like that wouldn't make it to Prod. On the whole, it isn't much more than a stinkin' Jeep.
