I really like Standoff, although I need to play it with fewer people. 6v6 is too much. 4v4 could be a lot of fun.
I really like Foundry, too, in it's base configuration no less. It feels a lot like Hang 'Em High to me. Lots of good long distance shots with reasonable amounts of cover. And then good vertical engagement with the possibility of someone jumping down on top of you for tight quarters action.
Rat's Nest is one of my least favorite maps in the entire game.

I almost wish there was some way to incorporate Timesplitter's map customization ability into Halo. It would need a lot of work, but there were so many more options and I remember it being a lot of fun setting up maps on that game.
Anyway, this is probably the wrong place to post that. I don't have a favorite, because I haven't gotten the opportunity to play any of them yet. Just messed around with Foundry in Forge so far.

-Foundry is way too small and I don't think I got more than 1 or 2 kills in the 4 or so games we played there.
-Rat's Nest was alright, but it felt like we were on a race track, driving around in circles and shooting at people until someone blew us up. Kinda boring.
-Standoff is pretty awesome. It's wide open, but hilly and rocky enough that you can find some cover... which usually doesnt last for more than 5 or so seconds. Warthogs in that map were a lot of fun. I expect a little time in forge will make this map even more fun for custom matches.

I think that's the next evolutionary step. It was one of the coolest features about some PC-golf games... you could make your own courses, and people came up with some really, really great ones. It has to be coming for FPS's eventually. Talk about a game really having some replayability...

The game wasn't that good, so it didn't catch on. Foundry is the closest thing I've seen to it so far.
