GH III demo coming out tomorrow!

This was just sent to me via e-mail; I can't wait!

If you were too afraid to burn a copy of the Guitar Hero III demo or were too uncoordinated to buy Tony Hawk Proving Ground, a third way of getting "your shred on" will emerge tomorrow with a five-song demo for the game hitting Xbox Live. If you're still cautious about the whole "Internet Craze" you can also get the demo with the December issue of OXM.

For the forgetful among you, here are the songs you'll be rocking:

I don't believe that you actually need a guitar to play the actual game. There are instructions to play it using the controller, but I can't imagine that would be much fun...

Weird story, I got my OXM demo disc in the mail today, and the disc is corrupt/unformatted. It says it is a "Mixed media disc", but I can see(not play) the demos on the disc in the demos section of the dashboard. In the video section I can watch a file called "gh3_hi480.wmv", and that is the GH3 gameplay video.

Weird stuff.

I burnt the demo when I found the news on Digg. Slapped it on a dvd-r and rocked out. Makes me want to fire up GH2. I wil have to finish up what I can and move on to GH3. It's out this Sunday right??

I just don't have the game or a guitar to play it. But i'd love to check it out.

Depends.. If you're playing with someone it can be quite funny. By yourself not so much, but it gets the job done. Once you know the what's what, it's not really all that hard.. just tricky trying to remember which is which when it gets tough.

I've never played a GH game before but this layout seems moronic to me. why not just set the controller so the colored buttons are the red, green , blue, and so on?

Only reason I can figure it's set up that way is so you can hit the double and triple notes without holding the controller in an uncomfortable way.

Besides, having it that way would probably make it too easy.

Holy crap is this demo fun. I can't wait for the full release! "Evenflow" is a great song; I missed 4 notes on the first try on medium. Not too shabby for me!
