Psychobilly Freakout on medium

I can not for the life of me get 5 stars on this one. I 5 starred every song up until this and can barely crack the 60K mark. My problem is the fast alternating green-red and red to yellow sections. I have slowed them down in practice mode but can't seem to get them at full tilt. Any pointers from the rock gods of PGL?

Are you strumming up and down or just down? Strumming down will hurt you pretty bad in medium, and is a requirement in Hard and Expert mode.

Those alternating notes can be a bitch (solo in Free Bird anyone?), and I can never seem to keep the timing pattern this game throws at you. Good luck NIN. I have no intention of getting 5 stars on every song on Medium, Hard or Expert.

I have been mainly strumming down, surprisingly I can strum pretty fast. I have tried the up and down but I do better by strumming down. I think its easily doable it's just the damn timing thats killing me. I will try more up and down strumming next time and see. I would like to at least get 5 stars on medium. Hard and expert I am not too concerned about as I have already attempted some of them and went WTF? Ya Know!

i got 5 stars on all songs on medium, it certainly dosent hurt to alternate strum if you good at it. but if u can get the hang of it it will probly hurt ya more. as far as the song goes, in expert (what im doin at mo) its pretty essential to hammer on and pull off, it helps a lot in the faster passages.

so maybe try some hammer ons and pull offs. and just keep practicing

I'm with you on this one. I can't get anywhere near 5 stars. All that I have left for 5 stars on medium are this, Hangar 18 (the solo is brutal) and Institutionalized.

I don't know if I'm ever going to get 5 starts on those bad boys. Plus, I can't seem to get past Woman on hard to move on. Sigh...

Glad I am not the only one who is having problems with the last few songs on medium. One day I will beat them though, time to move on to hard difficulty for know and attempt to learn the orange fret button.

On easy, this song is one of my favorites to play. It's hard on easy, but challenging fun. I have just a few easy songs to get five stars on still. I have a bunch of perfects, to my wifes bewilderment. I usually get perfects on my first game, then I get lazy and start slacking. But this is on Easy...

Let me know how your orange button experience goes. I'm getting better at it, but there are times when I'll just forget about even trying to hit it, because it ends up messing me up more than it helps me. But, that really hurts when the star power notes are involved.

The orange button is difficult at first. I think the more I practiced "Sweet Child of Mine" the better I got at it. That song uses the orange button a lot. If you can keep up with the song in full speed, then a lot of the songs that come before it are a lot easier.

Oh yeah, in hard, you have to strum up and down. There is no other way.

I finally achieved 5 stars on every song for Easy and Medium! You are so right about Psychobilly Freakout, that was one of the hardest songs! I only got 92 or 94% on it, but it still awarded 5 stars.

Now Hard mode is...well... HARD! Notes come uber fast and that Orange button screws me up every time.

I have always strummed down, and I'm so used to it that when I strum up and down it messes me up further, lol. Anyone have a good technique for up/down strumming? Do you take your fingers off strum control? When I strummed down I got in a bad habit of using my thumb and never took it off of it.

I just beat it on Medium and i only strum down, i got 92 % and 4 stars, cant get 5....just wont happen...im not enough of a rock god yet

i absolutely HATE that song, its not even catchy, really hard to play a song you cant stand
