Yeah, but I'm not talking about a retry, I'm talking if you fail & then retry - it starts from where you're at instead of just restarting back at the first part/cutscene of the mission - so it doesn't warp you anywhere really - just starts it over. It becomes tedious if you gotta retry a mission over & over (like Dwayne's club deal).
The other thing that kind of annoys me is that nearly every mission, Nikko has to say something to the "target" or whatever; if you're paid to take someone out, wouldn't you just walk up & shoot him in the back of the head without saying anything? But no - instead, you gotta have a cutscene, then dude will no doubt take off, and you gotta chase them. You always gotta chase them. Damn.

I agree if it were my job to be a hitman, I think I'd jsut kill them and skip the drama. But then again I've never killed anyone, so maybe its a lot different than we think, heh actually their just trying to add more cinematic to the game.
as far as the cop chases, theres about 5 seconds of intensity until you drive away, if you do anything daring like make a left turn then a right turn, or left and a left, or just 1 left and going straight you seem to leave the cops totally lost, even if they have a chopper. Also part of the trick is to not hit the accelerator full throttle, go fast enough so you dont run into stuff and so you can make turns without sliding in to walls or lamps. This works method of choosing your speed always works even if it requires you to go about 25 mph. (hence why I say I can just cruise down a street and and escape swat teams and choppers and stuff)
In past games I would hit the gas full throttle and the cops would still catch up and try and drive me off the road, in the event that a cop comes close to driving you off the road here it always fails to happen, they seem to drive off the road and forget to bring me with them.
Hope I didn't ruin the cop chases for anyone.

Yeah, it's unfortunate that they took out the stealth kills, ala GTA SA. I feel like the helicopter controls worse than it did in San Andreas as well...

My only gripe game wise is the horrible controls. Not just of vehicles, but of the entire game. Everything is just too smooth. And don't get me started on trying to take someone down while on a motorcycle. It's damn near impossible.
I enjoy the game, but the controls are starting to get to me.

the car controls i think are down well, I think they should of made doing turns at high speed easier (usually if you try to turn and throw the ebrake you slide into a wall, this might be more realistic, but high speed chases are really fun, and having to slow down really sucks)
the foot controls are horrible, I don't know why they didnt spend more time on them, esepcially whenever your on foot and your in a mission that requires cover. Ive been killed (or atleast seriously hurt) while dancing aroudn trying to get him to go to the go behind the right cover. if you ever have to move while there are badguys shooting at you, trying to use nearby objects as cover is usually a bad idea, i usually find its best to run straight at them and shoot them close range with a shotgun, and just to keep moving to avoid getting shot. I think it kinda throws away their entire new cover system they made.
the other annoying thing is when you need to change directions while walknig, while running i can see why you couldnt simply turn around because of pshyics and momentum and whatnot, but turning aroudn when walking shouldnt be such an annoyance, which adds to often getting killed while trying to walk to the right #$#@# spot
