Maaaaaaaan - all one has to do is take a quick peek over at youtube to see all of the horrible (and scary) parenting examples out there!
I was trying to find a funny pic of a "baby gangster" for another post - got a bunch of youtube results - and just WoW
Pretty sad man... People cracking up at their 2 and 3 yr olds throwing up gangsta signs - throwing around "nigga" this and "nigga" that - laughing at them trying to hold a 9mm straight. Are you freakin kidding me?!?!!!?
"Baby Gangsta" = 2,040 hits on Youtube... nice....
Oh - in the background of most of these videos is music with "******, ****, bitch, whore" - 2, 3, 4, 5 yrs old!! Come on - these kid is already lost... white, black, hispanic - boys and girls... like I say - nice... great parenting skills...
That cringe I had 15 - 20 years ago? I think it just went up exponentially! Can't wait to see these "kids" in 10 - 15 years.

I'm surprised by the Glen Beck hate. I really enjoy his radio show when I catch it. Never seen the tv show. I didn't watch the video but our opinions usually match.

The crazy thing was, when I went outside and hopped in my truck, my first instinct was to drive like I did in GTA. Obviously I didn't, but the instincts were initially there
|
What, you dont drive like a maniac regularly?!
Well here is the situation if a guy drinks some beers and hops into his car and drives on the sidewalk, Even though he never played GTA just cause its in the game it will be blamed on that. If Alchol kills soooooooo many people and starts sooooo many fights and fueds (Way more than Videogames, Music,& Movies put together) then why not talk shit about that and Ban that.
If a VIDEO GAME where you Electorniacally aim with a joystick is training for kids, Than WTF is playing Lazer tag or Water Gun fights with physical items that resembles guns and are often as heavy as pistols. They are actually holding it up, aiming and pulling a trigger. Toy Guns/Electronic videogames....hmmm what gives you more realistic training.
These people are set on taking out everything, They are blaming things on Every other thing other than Humanity and the fact that some people cant control the thoughts in their minds. They dont have the "WILL POWER" and the Parents dont teach the kids about "Will Power" which ive been lectured about many times. So they can keep putting the blame else where but in the end it never helps and just makes people waste more time on things that wont better people/society.

I am sorry, but I am no fan of games that go this far. Yeah, I have played games like condemned, etc. But for me, engaing prostitutes, killing them and cops, etc. is a bit too much for my tastes.
I agree with what the reporter said and will tell you that parenting is tough in this regard. I can control what my son and daughter are exposed to in my house, but cannot control what he is exposed to through his peers and many parents simply are not involved. When I talk about exposure it is not only to a game, but to the language and attitudes of other children who are influenced by being allowed to play it. So no matter how involved I am, it is a losing battle.
If people want to do it I believe they have the right to but I think it is a sad social commentary that we would want to.
Society is sick and it is not just videogames.....

Wow, me too.
Oh wait... you mean during the day?
On the Glenn Beck thing, Mad... I listen to him sometimes and I do agree with some of what he says because it's mostly common-sense based (at least on the radio... I rarely catch him on TV, usually just in passing). The thing about all these personalities on both sides of the aisle...Beck and Limbaugh on the right, guys like Al Franken, Michael Moore and that other guy (comedian, name escapes me, has had several shows)... is that they take a subject and they stretch it so far out toward their side that it's ridiculous. It's usually intended to make a point but all it really does is piss the opposing opinion off.
Usually I agree with the basic premise of what Beck has to say. I just think he over-hypes stuff quite a bit. But it's what he does... he's an entertainer and social commentator.

On a lighter note... I head on one of the in-game stations that there was a politician saying that the game Pogo the Monkey is a "primate simulator".
