It can do video conferencing in Europe as our providers suck here and don't support it. I have the European version right now I understand today we will be upgraded to US models soon which will give us 3GP. Right now I have to say it is one of the best phones on the market but the drawback is that it costs more than the iPhone, I think around $700. I have just started using just over a week now so I'm still working my way around it.
Monkey, It would be cool if you could check out the Nokia store in New York I hear it is very cool.

They also don't use sim cards so it is a little harder to switch phones. Plus you can buy an unlocked phone and use it on thier network. Those are the reason I know off the top of my head.

| Old network as in how, Lacking features and quality? They seem to have more of the techy phones that I have seen in my area anyways. I also don't think I have ever had a phone with a sim card in it either. Thanks for the info DMiller. | |

| Despite my hatred for AT&T I almost bought an iPhone yesterday. I was pissed because my current phone was effing up and not letting me make outgoing calls and generally acting weird. On my way home I stopped in a store and asked about buying the Dash. They gave me totally different info than I was given a month ago and wanted between $130 and $70 more for the phone than they quoted me last month. Then they told me to call customer care to see if they coudl work anything.
Yeah, the customer care person was an arse and graciously offered $20 off. Dick. I told him I was just going to buy an iPhone and be done with it. He didn't care.
I'm still in my contract, but I'm paying $80/mo for service. I figured it the cost to cancel my contract was less than a couple/few months service I would just cancel.
So I called to cancel and ask how much it would cost me. The woman with whom I spoke was probably the BEST customer service person with whom I've ever spoken. She was honest, nice and hooked me up with a great deal. So no iPhone for me. Just the Dash for now. I should get it towards the middle of next week. We'll see how it works. I do have 2 weeks to return it if I don't like it, but it can't be any worse than the suck-arse MDA.

| Almost had another iPhone convert!! Darn, Peench!
Oh well, I was utterly surprised to hear your situation with T-Mobile, though. Of the 7 years I've been their customer, I've not had a single problem with them. Any time I had an issue, they took care of it right away and exceeded my expectations while doing so!
Hope your Dash serves you better than your MDA, Beench!

The best part is, if there is a problem with the phone, you don't have to go to AT&T, they tech support it at Apple for everything. AT&T only deals with billing issues.
Pickle, stop yelling at me, it sends me mixed messages... especially when you send me those pictures with kiss marks on them.

| Much to my surprise when I got home on Friday my phone was waiting for me. They must have upgraded my shipping or something. Very cool. I have been itching to start it up and play with it, but without syncing it at my office I won't have any of my contacts, calendar, etc. so I'm holding off until Monday. Man, its killing me to just look at it sitting there!! haha. | |

I've had my new Dash all set up now for about a week. So far I'm loving it! It is so much more compact than my old MDA:
Windows Mobile 6 operates much the same way as 5, but there are some great refinements. Setting up my email accounts was a cinch and so far everything has worked without a hitch. I think I may need to adjust the sensitivity of the volume strip on the side. First I couldn't get it to change volume but I think I changed it up too much now as it seems to change volume even when I don't want it to! haha
It seems to run things faster than my MDA (not incredibly but noticeably anyway) and appears to have much more internal memory than the MDA. I threw in a 2GB micro SD card so I should be able to save loads of stuff on there too.
I love the fact that it weighs about 17 pounds less than the MDA and doesn't feel like a brick up against my head when I'm talking on it. It also has an incredibly sexy rubbery feel to the back of it which allows for much better grip than the MDA did.
The keys are smaller than on the MDA which I thought would be a problem at first. So far it hasn't turned out to be bad at all. In fact, the predictive text is pretty good and whereas I couldn't type with one hand on the MDA, I now can on the Dash.
So far in the last week I've loved the Dash. I'm not quite yet thru my free trial period, but I don't see myself sending this one back.
