Zune Wallpapers: How to and Where to Find Them

So I'm a Zune N00b! There, I've said it. All of you Zune owners have probably already figured out how to put cool wallpapers on your Zune and you all probably have millions of them already on your Zune and you change your wallpaper on a daily basis. Well this guide is mainly for those out there like me who had to actually think about it before figuring it out. Also, with the links to cool places to find wallpaper images for your Zune, this guide is still for you.

STEP 1: Get yourself some cool wallpaper

There are a variety of manners by which to obtain cool wallpaper for your Zune. These include:

a. Make your own. Try your hand at a little photo editing. Make sure your image is a valid jpg and has dimensions of 240 x 320.

b. Download them. This is where lazybones like me get their wallpapers. In searching around I found a few sites with some great wallpapers and user submissions. Here are a few, if you have found others, please post them in this thread and I will add them.
Free Zune Wallpaper. Not the easiest site to navigate, but there are some nice wallpapers here.
Zune Art. A variety of wallpapers in easy to see genres.
Theme Zune. More wallpapers than you could imagine all neatly organized.
STEP 2: Get your wallpapers into your Zune Library

The first thing you are going to want to do is make sure that whatever folder you are downloading your wallpapers into is monitored by your Zune Software.

Click on the Monitor Folders button and make sure. Be aware, if you add a folder to the monitored folders, Zune will rescan all of your media. For most this might not be that bad, but I've got over 100 gigs worth of music and it takes hours. An alternative is to add your wallpaper to a separate directory within a folder that is already monitored. By adding them to a separate directory, they will show up within that directory on your Zune. Mine is called "wallpaper."

Once you've accomplished this step, you should see the wallpapers you've added under the photos tab of your Zune software:

The photo button looks like a camera and has a blue circle around it in the photo above.

STEP 3: Transfer your New Wallpapers to your Zune

Choose which wallpapers you want to move over by highlighting them. Then drag them to the right. If you are set to manual synch (like me), you will then need to click on the "synch now" button circled in blue:

Since the files are fairly small, transferring them does not take much time at all.

STEP 4: Choose your new Wallpaper

Scroll to Pictures:

Choose your wallpapers directory:

Choose the photo you want to make your new wallpaper. Oddly enough there is no way to view it other than sideways. If I am mistaken, someone please let me know how to rotate it as I could not figure it out.

Press the select button in the middle of the circle of your Zune and then choose "apply as background."

STEP 5: Sit Back and Admire your Handiwork

If you have come across other sites that offer great wallpaper, post em up.
