everything should have a different ip address. Your 360 should have its own IP address as should your computer and your brothers computer. They all should be something like 192.168.1."different number 1-199". Sometime on routers the 3rd digit is a 0 and not a 1. So for example you could have 192.168.0."number". You might need to go into your routers settings and make sure that it is set to dhcp NOT static. To do that you need to type in to your browsers address bar 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 If you haven't done this before your login/password should be admin/admin or admin/"blank" (as in leave it blank) or maybe admin/password. You should be able to find DHCP somewhere in the settings. Why are you changing everything to static anyway? You can leave computers or whatever in DHCP and still have other items on a static IP.

make sure you're assigning IPs outside the DHCP range of the router, or turn off the DHCP all together in the router.

No problem. I went for the quick fix, rather than detailed. I getting a bit more lazy in problem resolution posts, especially on this stuff. Plus, I find getting too detail seems to be counter active since most don't understand the basics of LANs.

I'm changing because i need to open a port on my router (Port range forwarding), to have azureus NAT on green and DHT firewalled "free" too but when i open the port my connection disconnect (after a secounds) I think that i can fix this by changing my pc to a static IP our i'm wrong?? Thanks alot for the help guys.

I don't know about either of the azureus NAT and DHT firewall. I use Smoothwall for my hardware firewall and routing. Ironically enough, green is something used on Smoothwall to refer part of the LAN networks.

Honestly, I don't think the static IP is really going to change disconnect issue. Static IPs are more useful for when you have to place devices in the DMZ or port fowarding because when you have DHCP addressing, the device may not get the same IP if you have to restart the router (or whatever device does your routing). A static IP solves this since it will be outside the DHCP range and will remain the same until you manually change it.

Also, in Stewii's IP explanation, never assign a device to 1 (xxx.xxx.xxx.1) because it's the gateway address and will cause all kind of problems for your router. The lowest you can go is 2; also the highest you can go is 255. And your private IP subnet can only start with 192 or 10. I can't explain why well, but it's has to do with bits and the 255 limit and the general IP uses.

First, what is your PC's IP? You need to know what that number is so that you can input it into the virtual port page of your routers setting. That is where you enter your PC's IP and the ports your need open for the UDP and/or TCP. Most torrent software has a test button that will check your ports and may even show you your IP. Let me know where you are right now with, my IP is... and wither or not you have the ports open in your routers software.

Yeah, I had to use port forwarding at the house to counter Comcast's shenanigans of countering my shenanigans. I don't download movies or music illegally, but I do use it as a Tivo.

the IP info looks ok. I still think you have wireless security issue.

well, then you probably have some kind of issue with your ISP. Check to see if they have some forums and if anyone else has had that problem.
