buying games from GYG

i browsed the forums looking for an answer to this, but couldnt find one so heres a new thread! i do a lot of referring for GYG and i get asked a lot of questions. most of them i know the answers to, however one question always stumps me because ive never had any experience in this area.

how does GYG handle the purchasing of games from GYG. mainly what kind of pricing. i understand that there isnt just a set price for every game, but could you give me a range? most people always say, well, with XXX company i can buy the game ive rented for usually between $XX-$XX. more commonly they are referring to new releases and titles on the xbox 360. so if you could give me some kind of price range they could use as a guideline it would be very helpful

while browsing the old gyg threads, i reread the '2 months in state of the union' would GYG mind bragging, err i mean sharing some info again, i love to hear how well somebody is doing!

Great questions! We do have the option for customers to purchase rented games. At this time we don't have it appear as an option on every game, because we have been focused on building our inventory. But, when a customer lets us know that they are interested in purchasing a rented game, we work directly with them to make it an easy process.

In terms of pricing, it really depends. I wish that I could provide a specific price, but it really depends on what the game is, how many copies we have, etc. What we typically do is look online to determine what the "market value" is on, shall we say, other sites, then make sure that we provide a price that is competitive. So far it's safe to say that customers have been very happy with the pricing they receive.

Thanks for the referrals; we really appreciate it! It is amazing how many new customers we have gotten from referrals. Turns out that word of mouth has been better than any marketing we've done.

not a problem with the referrals, i do what i can, this weekend im gonna dress up in a big GYG mailer and stand on the corner waving...

would it be fair to answer their question by saying that GYG offers competitive pricing with the purchase prices?

Of course. The last thing that we would try to do is undercut our good friends at Cool Stuff!

We just want to make sure that our pricing is competitive with what is out there. This is why we don't make all of our games available for purchase initially. We only sell games that our customers want, or to move some older inventory. Leave the retail stuff to the experts like Geoff and Sam!

I've been super f'n busy with life lol Things have been slowing down, though.
