Bought a "new" house.

Well. Jen & I finally decided to sell our house and take a chance towards a house we wanted. Yesterday everything came together. We accepted an offer on our house and will be accepting the counter-offer on the house we want to buy. It's been a race to sell our house so we could buy the other. The seller's didn't want any contingencies. So we decided to race them. We sold first. The next month is gonna be total insanity. Our settlement date is Nov 30 for both houses. Hopefully I can get at least a week before that date to start the move to the new place. The new house is only 400 sq ft bigger, for now. Not to mention 48 yrs newer. The basement is huge and already framed for finishing. It may add close to 1000 sq ft when finished and add a new home for my TV. I plan to wire the entire house for internet and the HT area will have all cabling ran in the walls for speakers, etc. So I may be asking for TONS of info from you experienced cats. I'm gonna miss my first house. My wife is gonna lose it when we move. "It's where we brought our babies home", etc, etc. But, the move is putting us in a better school district, far quieter street, better yard, no crazy neighbor in the back, 2 car garage (awesome - no more snow on my car in the mornings), room for Jen's pool, and lots of potential for the man cave. I'll take tons of photos and keep you guys posted. I'll have a big house warming party too. And your all invited.

Congrats bro! sounds like a definite upgrade that will benefit the family in every way! You'll make new memeories and probably quickly forget about the "old" place. Keep us in the loop

Owning a house rules. We've had ours for 2 years now, but we're gonna sell in 5 years. I've put in new winows and hired a guy that did our driveway/patio. Raise that value!!

Oh man, I hate moving also. That damn little change of address card you have to stuff in your wallet for 4 yrs for your Drivers license sucks. Does anyone want a entertainment center? That thing is far too heavy to be moving again.

I can't wait to finish the lower level. It's a bi-level so it's not really a basement. Not sure how much I want to do myself either. The electrical work is out obviously. I have no clue about that. I guess I'll start with some sketches and such. I got to have some cool recessed lighting so I can hang my guitars and shit like that. Maybe an arcade cabinet here and there. Ohhhhh....I'm drooling.
