The IGN Lust List reborn

They ran this a couple years back and it sure as hell didn't resemble this in any way. Some of you may be shocked, I admit I was. To prevent any confusion, let it be known this accounts for consoles(no handhelds) only, otherwise the list would be filled with DS goodies(which not only is outselling its rival by a 5.1 ratio in Japan, but is now doing a 3.1 in Europe).

**I forgot to post last weeks results so I'll post those along with this weeks.

Oh, and try to spin this any way you want, at the end of the day it speaks volumes. Imagine someone telling you a year ago the following lists would look as they do? You would have laughed hysterically. If its software that drives the hardware.....

Week 1:

So two new systems are launching in just over a month, but all you guys are excited about is the year old Xbox 360? It's pretty telling that not only are there no PS3 games on the list, but the 360 version of Assassin's Creed (until just recently a PS3 exclusive) is the one everybody's talking about. As for Alan Wake, we were just as surprised at the title's X06 showing as you were: that game is officially looking badass.

Week 2:

The List also gives us an idea of what you don't give a damn about; like, oh, we don't know, the PlayStation 3 -- not a single game from Sony's new console shows up on the list. From a software standpoint, the PS3 just isn't showing up on people's radar. Of course, pre-orders were snatched up at lightning speed last week, so enthusiasm for the console remains high even if nobody cares about the games. But even cross-platform games like Call of Duty 3 and Assassin's Creed generate more excitement on the 360 side of things.

5 each this time, the Wii is gaining momentum

Assassins Creed is always edging out Gears, and after seeing that vid a couple weeks back, I can see why. Thats my Most Wanted 360 game(next so Splinter Cell 5 ofcourse).

Assassin's Creed will no doubt be absolutely incredible but as it stands... I gotta look increments into the future as opposed to into the distant future! Focus on the now!

I can't focus on the now, I'm waiting for the xbox 720 already. I mean I knew it was being worked on but now that its been confirmed, I can't sleep! LOL

Its not a resolution thing for me, I'd be pleased if 720p is all we ever got. I just want better textures, better shaders, more memory and faster cpus so more action can take place on screen. Imagne CoD 5 or 6 with thousands upon thousands on screen and looking 100 x better than they do now.

I agree, I wouldn't mind sticking with 720p resolution if they kept all the fluff such as textures, shaders, fsaa, etc. and kept the framerate up around 60fps.

Wow, the Wii is dominating, that is pretty impressive.

The more I hear about the little wii the more I want the little wii.

If you like the games it offers, get it. Just remember, it doesnt support anything above 480p or PLII. If you can deal with that and want it for the software and controller, snatch 1 up! If you have kids, its a no brainer. It'll make for some fun family nights using those controllers.

If it supported HD and it got an exclusive that catered to me down the road, I might try it in a few years(cant stand any 1st party Nintendo games) but because it doesnt support HD at all, I'll pass altogether. And before I get attacked on my stance, I'm not the only one who feels this way people.

Im surprised 360 games are in there considering the are TWO system launches in the next 3 weeks. Zelda would be #1 if it was launching or not, the damn games been delayed for a couple years. It'll sell good on GC too, Nintendo will make mad profits this Holiday season

I am totally with you on the HD, Spoon. It's HD or bust for me really. I think the only way I will swing buying a Wii is if there is an absolute killer app that I must have that is solely exclusive for the Wii. As it stands now, Zelda looks mighty tempting but, not enough to entice me, especially considering the slew of xbox 360 games on it's way in the next few weeks!

I don't have kids, but I have a wife, which is similar in more ways than it should be. With the wii, I may be able to free up some of the "share" time with the 360, and she can game in the bedroom on our standard def TV.

I'm buying a wii to get my 360 back. Not right away mind you, but eventually.

yeah, too bad my wife doesn't make time for gaming. As much as she loved/loves it when she plays.. it doesn't interest her to make a point to game. The only thing I could get her to play consistently (which even now has worn off) was Brain Age on the DS.

This weeks list is in, ps2 creeps in while wii loses 2 and the 360 still brings in atleast half Still no PS3 games after 4 weeks of monitoring, odd seeing it's so close to launch. I guess its true.. people are more amped about the hardware than they are the games that will be available for it.
