I'm getting Rock Band because the guitar looks way better. I'll probably pick up a disc-only copy of GHIII though.

I'll probably be getting GH3 b/c I already have GH2... I haven't heard much on Rock Band. Will the guitar I already have be compatible?

(I dunno what's going on with the polls... usually anyone can do one.)

The first play-test they showed of RB, the guitarist was using the GHII controller. I haven't picked up GHII, so I'll be picking up RB, GHII, and GHIII this holiday.

I'm not sure. I"m thinking GHIII would be a cool choice. Rock band is interesting since you can play other instruments--piano, drums, etc--and sing. I'm don't really like the singing part of it. But could be a fav for the Karoke fans.

i dont think you can play piano, i thought it was vocals, lead guitar, bass guitar, and drums, do you know something i dont?

You are correct, there is no Piano instrument.

I read an interesting article about these two after the Red Octane / Harmonix split. Sounds like it was pretty ugly. This article was definitely pro Rock Band because the GH3 folks refused to participate with the article unless it was focused on their game. From what I can tell, Rock Band looks like it might have the early edge because it sounds like Harmonix did the majority of the development of GH2.

Im prob goin for GH3, to get the most out of rock band is going to cost a fair bit, the price list for the instruments is steep!

Yeah, but if you find one you like, you can just stick with that one when you play online.

i have no intentions of buying everything right away, but its not to be limited at the same time, right now you may only want to play guitar, but what if by chance you get tired of that, then your done with the gh3, at least with rb you can play a whole new game by purchasing a new instrument
