Credit Card Fun?

Here is a general situation.

Person A allows Person B to make a purchase on Person A’s credit card for an online purchase.

Person A made an agreement with Person B that Person B would pay off the full amount before the credit card statement deadline.

Person B did not pay Person A the full amount before the credit card statement time period has elapsed.

Person B decided that they would not pay for the interest incurred because Person A had more than enough money to pay for the rest, despite the fact that Person B does so as well.

Do you believe that Person B should pay for the interest incurred for not paying the full amount of the credit card?

In theory, Yes, person B should have to pay the interest. However, person A should be held accountable for being stupid enough to allow someone else to charge something on his/her CC.

Person A (credit card holder) should pay the interest.

Even though Person B had an obligation to pay before a proscribed period of time, Person A did not foresee nor contract with Person B regarding the payment of interest in the event of default. Therefore, it was Person A's responsibility to insure that no interest would be accrued, even if it meant paying Person B's debt, and seeking repayment after the allotted time. Failure to do so on Person A's part amounts to a breach of the credit card agreement he has with the Credit Card Company, regardless of who should have paid.

My answer above is purely rational, and doesn't account for the fact that it sucks that Person B totally di*ked over Person A. Person A should be more carefully in the future not to bind themselves to irresponsible people who will cause them to incur unnecessary debt on their behalf.

Well lets say that Person A has a twin brother named Person B. >.> ****ing Person B. My idea on it is that Person B legally does not have to pay it, but Person B should pay it off because he borrowed the credit card to make the purchase in the first place. I guess there will be no more online purchases for Person B for computers.

I like Brew's idea, especially if he's a knucklehead brother. Be sure to film it and host it on YouTube.

I think that Person B (twin #2) should pay Person A (twin #1) back, by letting Person A pretend to be Person B and get it on w/Person B's girlfriend. Then have Person B walk in on them both and pretend not to know what is going on & get all upset. Film THAT, put it on YouTube and let Person A shut up already.

Person B should pay the interest.

However, a similar situation happened to me. I was signing our flag football team up for a league, and they charged my credit card the $500 for it. As it turns out, they didn't get enough teams to sign for for the league and the season was cancelled. So, I call them up to get them to refund the amount to my credit card. They kept dragging thier ass and eventually I got a credit card bill with the $500 on it (the only thing on the card). They dragged thier ass some more and finally a month after that, they reimbursed the $500. Well, by that time I had accumulated about $5 in interest. I informed the league what happened and wondered if I was going to get the $5 they owe. This is the responses I got:

Them: <shruggs shoulders> "Sorry?"

Needless to say I didn't get the money back, nor have we played in that league since.
