| temporary gaming setup
Here is my temporary gaming setup. The TV is a 14" SDTV. So this is why I was even worse than normal on GOW when I playing on Friday night. I couldn't see anything without my face right next to the TV.

| When you said you were on a 14" TV, I thought you were BSing. You played pretty well to be on a TV that size. | |

| I normally play on a 55" HDTV, but we had some work done in the family room, and I have to wait for it to be completed before I can get back in there. And yes, it totally stinks.
The funny part, I used that TV when I was playing on the NES and SNES days. Back then, it was a sweet deal.

| Dang, going from 55" to 14"??? I think I'd likely just hold off on gaming! It'd be more frustration than anything! | |

| well, I'm working on the home LAN setup with installing a new hardware firewall. So it's easier to have everything in one room. I'm working on getting the PS3 to a Type 2 Nat (360's open NAT status).
I'll be moving the gaming systems to another room with a 27" SDTV with a S-video input. Not great, but it'll work till they patch the hole in the walls.

| A slight change to the temporary setup. I've connect the 360 to my new 20" widescreen monitor via the 3-video input. It doesn't have a component input.
if you look, you can see a thick gray wire connecting the 360 to the monitor, LOL.
this is the sound system, my cosmic headphone amp since it was the only way, without going a buying another adaptor to connect the r/l rca audio oupputs to my 3.5mm input to my destop speakers. If you want info on the amp, you can check it out here http://www.headphone.com/products/he...rtable-amp.php. It's the closest version to the one I have. My model has been discontinued.

| Very cool! Better than playing on the 14" eh?! That's a one stop shop right there man. Next I'd install a fridge and a port-o-john and never get up again! | |

| Yea, there is some netflix there. I've actually been using since I got my first DVD player back in 2000. I like the service a lot. Then again, I really don't like going the store either.
Damn DL, I don't know if that is good or bad thing my setup is almost as good as yours. But my normal setup is pretty sweet, in my opinion. It's goofy using the headphone amp though, LOL.

| Gotcha D. That's my normal setup. Actually, it's a 6.1 because that's what the receiver outputs, but I have the speaker setup for 7.1. I'll have to wait till the 7.1 and HD decoding receivers come out to the market. | |

| some slight changes to temp setup
Basically, I clears off the my one cabnet of the gaming systems. The 360 is connected via the VGA input; I'm actually using my open port on the KVM switch, LOL. The PS3 is using the s-video switch (the cable was only $20). The downer other than the size of the screen (I still prefer the 55" HDTV) is the audio. As much as I like my ten year old PC speakers, this 2.1 setup isn't loving me like the 6.1 w/ the SVS sub. You may notice sony s-video switch on the desk, that's to change the audio from the 360 and PS3
