It's all true.
I'm a huge fan of Chuck Palahniuk ( clear evidence here) so knowing that she honed her skills writing with Palahniuk made this an easy choice for me. Her writing style is very laid back, almost nonchalant, and it's pretty damn funny. And weird.
I'd also recommend a book called Jennifer Government. I read it a while ago, but it was a great read as well.

I'll hafta check some of these out. Now I just have to find time to read all of these. I'm reading the recent book on the Zodiac Killer right now and am about half way thru it. Very interesting stuff.

Man, there is A LOT of reading going on in this place. I can't touch all the reading you cats do. I recently finished the latest from Tolkien, The Children of Hurin. Pretty good read. Much easier than The Silmarillion. Next up is his Unfinished Tales. This nerd can't get enough of Middle Earth. The next book in the Halo series is on the list too, Contact Harvest.

"The Late Great USA' by Jerome Corsi. I'm 1/4 of the way through it and it's good. It's all about NAFTA, open borders, and the establishment of a North american Union with Canada and Mexico. Kind of a scary book even though it's non-fiction.

Just reviving this thread again...
I've been on a little binge. Finished Angels & Demons (Brown). I agree is was at least equal with DaVinci Code. I actually thought it had more potential than it ended with. I wasn't real big on the ending, but hey...
Read The Footprints of God (Iles). I liked it alot. Again, I wasn't real big on the way it all worked out. I totally loved the premise and how the author kicked the book into gear, but the plot resolution left me a little 'meh'. Just personal taste I think. It was a good read, and the author used a very interesting shift in viewpoint... when the main character is involved, the book's written in first person. When secondary characters are involved, it's third person if I recall correctly. Whatever it was, it made things a little more interesting.
Also read Digital Fortress (Brown). Another good one, but not quite as good as Angels & Demons or DaVinci Code.
edit: Thanks guys, for the recommendations on these-- good stuff!
Currently reading Splinter Cell:Fallout. Pretty good read, but nothing special.
I've been looking for Jane Government but I can't seem to get my hands on a copy at the local library. I may buy it if I can find it at B&N tomorrow when I'm there. I'm also looking for a copy of Late Great USA.

If you're interested in great books with wacky but memorable characters and great story lines try anything by Tom Robbins. He wote books like, Even Cowgirls Get The Blues, Skinny Legs And All, Still Life With Woodpecker, and my personal favorite, Jitterbug Perfume. He's got a huge library of work and is still writing to this day.
I think Peench and NoLimit would like these for sure. If you're like me though you have to read the books in chronological order, he tends to insert people from other books and write running themes in most of his work. But if you want to get an idea of what he's about read the beginings of Jitterbug Perfume and Skinny Legs and you'll get the gist.
I cant figure out how to double quote so this is a copy from an older post Keezy. Tom Robbins will open your eyes fo' sho'.
