Awesome local bar with 360's!
I was bumping around town last night having a few drinks before an NBA game, and I found this cool looking bar. I entered and instantly liked the decor, modern, and the client base, an after work mix of people. Half the place was restaurant, Cafe Bernardo's the other half, the bar, was called R15.
Anyway, they have these little lounge rooms, with a couch and a love seat facing a large plasma TV, and each room has a 360 in it! I walk by a room, and what do my ears here over the swank jazz coming from the bars speakers? GEARS OF WAR!
Hell yeah! Two guys were in one room playing Gears and having a blast with their feet up and a pitcher of beer between them. It was so cool.
I spoke with the guys, who were both very cool and I think they will both be joining us here shortly. They were Halo and Madden fans, but I think Gears won them over.
I took a couple of pictures with my phone as attached which gives you an idea of what I am talking about. 360's in a bar is just an awesome thing, and I have a cool new hang-out!

that's awesome!
I think you're gonna see more of this. I'd love to open up a little place like that.
Does that second picture remind anyone else of an area in Gears in Act 2 (I think) ?

I have thought about this... Not a bar but coffee house.. Don't drink so I can't support that habbit. I think it is fully possible to make a go of this. I just haven't had the moxi to do it.

I'm slowly kicking around this idea in my head. I wonder how all that works out w/ licensing and stuff. Is that person allowed to profit from use of the games? Or, is it just a perk for "shopping" there? If we could charge for usage, would MS, or other console/game mfr want their cut?

Yeah, my wife is worried! Besides the 360's, they have four pool tables and dozens of plasmas all over the place with sports on! Beer was $2 and mixed drinks $4, not so bad. I went back after the game to get my car which I left near there, and the place had a full on club atmosphere. So the happy hours would be my time of choice to visit.
The use of the 360 was free. I think one of the guys mentioned you had to leave your drivers license or something to borrow the wireless controllers. People in the other rooms were watching sports. I think there was only three of these lounge rooms. Then there was just regular bar seating. Oh, there was this room called the sky box, above the lounge rooms which was cool. It over looked the whole bar and would be great for a private party.

To answer ZoomZoom's Question You wouldn't have to License With Microsoft, Because they Are paying you to play with your 360. its like the internet Cafes you pay for time usage on the cpu. Thats where I've seen 360 Setups, But never in a bar. And For FREE also, you cant beat that. But I see them Doing the Same thing to 360's, PS3's, Wii's Like they did with the PC. Open up an Internet Cafe, Or Video Game Cafe/Bar and Charge By the Hour. I want to find a place like that in the San Francisco Bay, Cause SACRAMENTO aka Sactown is 2 Hours away.

You could charge to get in. cover charge. Yep, I've been thinking about it also. The kids here in town need a place to hang out.

Thanks NoLimit, for your input. I guess where it could possibly become a conflict is if I bought a bunch of Live account, and then charge people to use it. I'll have to read the ToS again.

NoLimit,
Sorry for Keezying this thread, but why do you capitalize words in the middle of the sentence (I just noticed this in another post of yours as well)? Is it the new way for the younger gen to be edgy and against the grain? It makes it hard for me (and I would assume others in my generation) to actually read what you type.
