Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: South Portland , Maine | Michael Vick = Over rated This just in- Michael Vick sucks as well. This guy is the most over rated QB in the league. Yeah he can run, but he can't pass with any consistent accuracy. Those lob passes he throws are total crap, he is not a good passer at all. Make him a RB and get a real QB Atlanta, if you don't you will go nowhere.

I thought he was doing a lot better this year being a pocket passer? I don't have him on any of my fan teams so I don't pay too close attention.

| man, why do people gotta be such pricks... stars like this have obligations to please the crowd.
Not to mention, it's their job. They get paid for this!
I don't know of any other self-respecting job that you can mouth off and flip the bird to a "Customer" without getting fired!
$5000.00 fine??? C'mon, that's like saying "Oh, you gotta pay a fine of 25 bucks" to you and me...
This is why I hate professional sports athletes.

Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Hendersonville, North Carolina Age: 40 | I have him as my backup QB in FF. The one thing he's usually good for is an over-value trade mid-season. Usually someone who needs a QB will overpay for him after he has his usual two weeks of greatness... unfortunately for me this year the only guy that was hard-pressed for a QB at that time is pretty knowledgeable and wasn't biting. He's not bad as a backup though. It's all or nothing with him usually... either he scores you a ton of points or you get the goose egg.
IRL, he's way, way, way overrated. He should be a third-down back... open space runner. Or heck, just go ahead and try to run the dang option (which doesn't work in the NFL)... but quit making him what he's not. He's not accurate enough to be a pocket passer.

| I have been watching him since he and my brother shared classes at VT. The boy IS an exceptional athlete. Last year, he was the fastest guy in the NFL. He can run and juke with the best of them. He also has a good arm. I disagree with several of you that say he can't pass. The whole problem is in his head. If he would stop trying to act like a thug and more professional, I believe he could dominate. ALSO, it isnt fair to blame all on him for Atlanta's failures. D made an excellent point, he is hero one day, goat the next. | |

I've got nothing against Vick. He is what he is. The team needs more from somewhere. They keep trying to squeeze it out of Vick and it's juist not there. So far, he really has no recievers. Crumpler's his best one, and he drops waaaaayyy too many passes. Vick does have a cannon and he's a great athlete. But his accuracy is average at best. Atlanta needs some recievers who can go get it before Vick can do much more than be up and down very week. He has to have some other people make some plays to take the heat off.

I am still a bit ticked at the criticism Michael Robison got about being an NFL quarterback. I think he could of done a better job than Michael Vick but hey thats me I bleed blue and white!!LOL

Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Westwood, CA Age: 32 | Being a huge Falcon fan, I find myself at a crossroads in this conversation.
On one hand, Vick is arguably the most exciting Atlanta athlete since Dominique Wilkins. He's electric on the field, and watching him in person is 10 times better than watching him on TV. It's only then that you get the true sense of speed he actually has.
That being said, his mind is indeed his worst enemy. He so wants to win, and that affects his decision making many times.
So yeah, I get caught on the fence with this one. I will say that this year his receivers have SUCKED though. I mean, there have been at least 5 dropped TD passes that I can think of just off the top of my head. We're talking easy, easy catches. And our line isn't exactly stellar. But beyond those things, Vick does make bad decisions.
I still love watching him play though.
