I think the reason Bean is so funny is that everyone can relate to him, from a young child to an old man. He just has that quality. Mr. Bean is still one of the funniest and most talked about European shows, even though it's been off the air for close to 15 years now. The movies were funny, if not a bit corny, but sticked with the same humor of the show, which is extremely important.
Rowan Atkinson is one of the funniest guys, even out of the Bean character. Did you ever see Johnny English? Hilarious, and it starred a pleasant looking Natalie Imbruglia to boot.
