This will more than likely be my situation when my 4 year old and 14 month old are 16, 17, or 18. While I like fixin' on cars and such, I don't want my GIRLS to get stranded some where across town in a beater, just so I could save a few bucks. Their safety and well-being are tops on my list. If I had sons, it'd be a slightly different story, but I would still want them safe and well.
MadProps to MadBryan! Oh, and great pictures! You've got a full plate with your daughter. She's a looker! Hopefully the school boys are treating her with respect. She should expect it.

And Pickle is a dirty old man, LOL.

Thanks Alpha, you seem to get it. I really had to bite my lip (per a discussion with Zoom) I didn't post this to talk about my daughters clothes or "headlights" (poor taste by the way) or to brag. I think I'm the only guy with kids this old and I was just trying to share the joy I felt. A few of you get it, Crippler-Serren-and Zoom. Thanks guys. I know two of you have daughters (not sure about you Serren) but its differant than boys. I wouldn't do it for my son, I don't know why, but he would get a beater for sure. I think it teaches boys skills they need in life. Plus I know what I did to every car I drove at that age. I adore my daughter and she excels in everything she does, school, sports and she has been an enormous help and big sister to our son (autistic) She has shown me responsibility and a desire to earn her way. She works now on top of the A's in school and Varsity sports. Well I'm starting to ramble myself, so thanks to the few of you that get it
ps the black Cobalt is my father-in-laws. He turned us on to them and its his house and grass (Crip) where we surprised her after some burger and dogs on the grill. Good times!!

When I suggested used, I was thinking like something that's within three years old. Saves a lot money and if was giving decent care, is NOT a piece of junk.

Insurance first though right?
Full coverage is a lot on new cars, unless the car was cheap, but since your daughter is a new driver with barely any exp, its gonna be high, average 500 or more. Thats if your daughter is named driver on her own...1 moving violation and it jumps. I should know, I check my rate every week.
If you want A+ rated companies that have good service when it comes to claims i suggest Progressive, its what i use for the teens whose parents' want them to have their own insurance, instead of being under their policy.
Good luck

insurance is alot cheaper for a girl with the good grades discount. She's been insured for a year on a new HHR and a fairly new Silverado. My wife stopped by the agents office yesterday and made the changes and I haven't heard of any major increase. (how come you kids keep trying to poo poo on my parade) I'm a grown man and have a pretty good idea of how this works
