How can you tell if you're banned from playing a game on Live?

I'm trying to play some Halo 2 so I can get some nostalgic Gauss driving in. I choose my gamertag which normally brings up a screen to Sign in, Don't Sign in, or Register New Account.

The Sign In option isn't showing up for either gamertag I've tried restarting my xbox too. Is there a way to tell if I've been banned? I don't have any mods or banned material on my xbox. I'll be pretty upset if I'm denied the Gauss indefinitely

nevermind. I restarted like 6 times, and finally was prompted to download yet another update.

They still update this game? lol

I'm pretty sure if you get banned (temporarily or indefinitely) you get some sort of message or something. Since I've never been banned, I can't say for sure, though. Glad you didn't get banned!

One of my friend's son got banned recently. He was trying out some glitch. Now, his Bio says 'Code of Conduct'. Not sure if that was put in there by Live, or him, but he knows he is banned.

No, Live did that. Someone put some "curse?" in the motto section and end up with 'Code of Conduct' as his motto.

My friend got banned from halo 2 for standby. It pops up with a message when you try to play a matchmade game you can still play custom games though at least in halo 2. Now on the 360 you will get those messages that peench posted.
