Looks like Grenic sure knows Canadians!

If you happen to be in Owen Sound, Ontario in the not-too-distant future, you might see the owner of Nathaniel's restaurant boarding up his once-thriving business.

Why?

Well, because he raised the ire of the community and the nation by firing one of his waitresses for shaving her head to raise money for cancer research.

Last week Stacey Fearnell, a 36-year-old waitress at Nathaniel's restaurant was fired after she shaved her head to raise money for Cops for Cancer.

Stacey, who lost her father to cancer, made the decision to chop off her lovely red locks because she has a friend battling cancer.

See? You just proved my point. It works. If people don't like the company's practices, the company will go out of business. You don't need government and lawsuits to do what already works. Government has it's place, but it's not here in this situation.


The same people who decide whether or not they will give any of their business to some company (restaurant in this case) are the same people who elect politicians into office. Allowing those politicians to decide what will and will not be aloud in a business only opens up the possibility and almost always results in some form of corruption.

I would not want to be served by one of those jewish guys with the braids and long beards or an ayrab with a beard down to his gut, but that just me. If they tried to make a dude like that shave in the states, he would wind up owning the joint. If it was just some random white dude that liked having a beard, no problem. GO CANADA!

A few days after Fearnall was let go, Dan Hilliard, the owner of Nathaniel’s, issued a statement offering his “sincere apologies to Mrs. Fearnall, the Canadian Cancer Society, Cops for Cancer and the public, for failing to resolve the issue of Mrs. Fearnall shaving her head for Cops for Cancer, prior to Mrs. Fearnall contacting the media." The statement maintained she was not fired.

Fearnall has since found a new part-time job. She told reporters her new boss is happy with her appearance and has asked her to work more shifts.
