Recently, I took a pretty big step and allowed my 9 year old to play on Live with another guy's kid who is on my friends list (Lego Star Wars). We set up a time they could get together, and were both supervising while they played, and each had a pretty good time with it. The kid has since asked to set up another Live gaming day, and it got a thought in my head:
Are there any other PGLers with kids who would want to get involved in something like this? We're not talking joint R6V2 or GTA IV here, but age-appropriate games where we can let our kids play from time to time for maybe a half-hour stretch (my son is only allowed to play a grand total of about an hour when he's here).
With the weather getting nicer and activities like baseball, bike riding, etc. There won't be too much time during a weekend for video games, but every once in a while could be a fun thing.
Thoughts? | |

Yep, cool idea. My 10-year old loves to play (pretty much anything). It'd be cool to have some father/son Halo sometime.

But Lego Star Wars or some Wii games maybe a blast. He is 8, my daughter is 10 but she mostly play Webkins on the computer. I'm sure there are several other kid friendly games as well that we have.

He got my old Xbox but it hardly gets any use - he has a few games for that but I can't really think off-hand what they are...

I substitute teach, and I can't tell you how many times I've heard 3rd graders talking about "pwning noobs" in COD4.

I've let my 6 (7 in July) year old watch a match or two (when he wakes up in the middle of the night and I'm playing), but he's never played and I won't let him for quite some time. Wow.
