Imagine if this were a commercial today
It is surprising how far our society has come. This commercial was shown during the first Monday night football game. It starts out fine but then things kinda go weird.

I think it was weird to see that sort of commercial compared with what you see today's times. You just don't see that sort of emphasis put on a woman's safety in today's commercials.

look at the time period though. That was before the supreme court ruled against many laws that discrimnated against women.
And then you had the womnas liberation movement. I can't count the nuumber of times in the 1970's that I would try to hold a door for a woman and they would give me a dirty look and grab the door because they wanted to do it themselves. To this day I rarely hold the door open for anyone. I just hold it until they grab the door then I'm on my way.
