I can be very good with money. I have to be since I like buying expensive toys. I hardly ever use cash, nor have it on me. It's not that I don't like it, I just prefer not have it. Something to loose if robbed. It's not uncommon for me to carry the same twenty dollar bill for month or longer.
Unfortunately, credit is a necessary evil. Personally, I have four cards for all the major credit card companies. All but one, I pay off at the end of the month; I'm what card companies call free loaders.
Ideally, what I like to do, is make a big purchase after having saved the money for it, and put it on the card. I'll call the card company before hand to see if I can get a deal on the interest rate, which I usually do. I'll pay some of it during the deal time, and right before the end, I pay it completely off.
I find it works well to maintain and build credit. Unfortunately, if you don't use credit, you loose credit.

About 5-6 years ago... Now my wife on the other hand is the exact opposite and would never go about paying an insane premium to make sure she has a walking advertisement with the letters "LV" all over it.

Louis Vitton. He makes plastic handbags, and charges hundreds for them.

Sure it would be nice to pay for everything with cash, but those days are coming to an end. Am I the only one that sees we are becoming a cashless society?
"Charge it on the credit card for convenience! Have your paycheck direct deposited, then pay your bills online! You'll save time and money!"
Eff the system! lol
