Jumping out of a perfectly good airplane
What: Skydiving
Who: Prophet0ne and work crew
Where: Kapowsin Airfield, WA
When: June 7,8,9,10
Why: It's on the bucket list
Well I got up some cahones and signed up for some skydiving lessons. A co-worker of mine got the bright idea and it's got me pretty pumped. Can't wait 'till June. I'll post some pics if they aren't to gory. Wish me luck.

Awesome. I want to do it, too. But I wouldn't go for the training, once is enough for me. But I would totally want to jump solo (which is why you get training).
Definitely post pics and I'm curious about what a reasonable rate is too.

It's $175 for a tandem and $265 for Accelerated Freefall (AFF) all gear included. For Certification it's $1600, and after 6 jumps in the accelerated category you are certified. Then it only costs you $22 a jump afterwards. I can jump 3 times for the same amount I paid for Halo 3. Can't wait.

No. I'm doing the AFF so it'll count toward certification.

My wife did this a couple of years ago, jumped on her own... Lost her radio and ended up landing in some farmer's field! LOL She had a good time though. I'd never do it, because my cajones are locked in a box and the key has been thrown away...

I did static line jumps in the Army 12 years ago but never had the chance to free fall, it's on my bucket list though.

The guy who got me going on this has the same experience. Marine guy with some static jumps. He wanted to try freefall which is what got this whole thing started. Plus he said the landings he'd done previously were barely controlled, tuck and roll stuff.

I've had numerous tuck and roll but it depends on the chute I've also had what we called controlled glide landings. When you do tuck and roll it feels as if you've got a be hurt but after a couple of seconds no worries. I'd love to free fall one day but we'll see.
