Absolutely. It's extremely easy to record and stuff. The editing takes some practice and it looks like about $70 in software, but it's not bad.
I'm gonna wait though, on the tutorial until there's an option that gives better video quality. Twango's upgrading it appears, so their video streaming is down again. Hopefully Dmiller can give some insight as to how long that will be. In the meantime, if anyone knows of one that's free and has better quality, let me know.
What are you see as a issue? What are the file type.

Sorry bro, tried to msg you earlier. Here's a link to my profile. Actually that may not get you there. Not sure. Anyway, video files are currently suspended from streaming. I thought it was size related, but some files that are decent size are still viewable. It's odd. There's a msg that says that it's temporarily suspended (on newly uploaded ones too).
Quo, what's your set-up like? (How much RAM, what type of video card, etc...) I really would like to get this, but my computer is not top notch, and my switch is only 10/100.

Can you send me one of the files... to david dot j dot miller at nokia dot com
We will look in to it. We fear that either EA changed their FLV format or when we rolled out the new transcoding format a week or so ago ours changed. I'll see what I can do to get it fixed. So about the problems and thanks for your support of Share on OVI. Now I sound like a ad.... darn.
Thanks Wonder... so far the Brightcove looks best to me, it doesn't distort the aspect ratio (but it also ends up smaller, and brightcove's a beeeeotch to navigate.
Dmiller, most of the files we're talking about are recent files from EA... but then there are some on my channel from EA, same time frame, and they work fine. The most recent files I've uploaded were MPG's... large ones, like 25-35 MB each -- thus i can't email them. They can be downloaded from my public channel, but they aren't available for streaming. Is that all the info you need?
My handle at ovi.share is Quo, and all the necessary files are public and accessible.

My laptop is what I'm streaming to:
Pentium M 1.86 Ghz
1 GB RAM
Mobile Intel 915GM
I don't think you need too much machine for this... I bought this laptop 3 years ago, spent around $700 and it works like a charm.
If your network is wired, you're good to go with the 10/100 as long as it's running at the 100 end rather than the 10 end. The key ingredient is the LAN speed. If you're wireless, you'll need at least a wireless G router and adapter. I went with N because I hate upgrading and I was back on the wireless-B standard.
This thing works just like the slingbox... except it's HD out of the box and a bit cheaper, and very friendly to the xbox 360 setup in general. Slingbox streams media better over the net from what i undestand. If you want to stream TV to a remote location, you have to have an upload of 300kbs or higher. Mine's not quite at that level... i think it's closer to 275 consistently (suck!).
Your computer needs grow when it comes to editing the vids. I use the office computer fo rthat, and it's beefier but it still runs on the edge. I'll have to look at the specs on that. I've been using Magix Movie Edit Pro 14 (trial) to do the editing. There's a learning curve, but it's workable.

Ok, I'll have them look at them MPG maybe the issue we have started seeing issues with those type for some reason. To be honest since we added 3GP (a mobile streaming format) output things have been a little flaky at best. Sorry about the issues. I'll just yank some of the videos off the storage and give them to test to figure it out.
From what I could see, only the Brightcove video was widescreen. The other two were squished. Of the three, Brightcove looked the best to me. And, Wonder, I have yet to be able to see any of your Flickr videos.
The EA videos should work you can reload them. I'm not sure about the MPG files as they won't even play in windows media player. Do you know the codec that is used?
