Hahaha, yeah I hate shopping during sales. I might have to go and get Condemned for $18 though.

Early is good. My wife and I have done it for the past few years - we figured our kids were up so we may as well head out, but this year we may pass. I think we're having Thanksgiving up in LA at my bro's house so we probably won't be back in time. Either that or we'll hit up the sales late in the afternoon and clean up all the unwanted stuff.

Awesome... I was looking to pick up a monitor, as CC has an AWESOME deal on a 22" Acer, but I wanted to see what Black Friday had to offer. Apparently the Monday after is great for internet deals?

That's insane! I plan on getting to CC very early in the morning. They have a Samsung 22" LCD for $279. I thought $299 on an Acer was a good deal! Also, they have 2GB SanDisk Thumbdrives for like $13 or something like that. Hopefully it won't be too crazy near me, but who knows.

I hate to break it to you but according to my father - a Manager at the Best Buy in Springfield, IL - this isn't the Black Friday ad. He said that no store will have it until Tuesday 11/21 and that it hasn't been created yet to keep it from being leaked as it has been in years past.

That 32" WestingHouse LCD for <$500 would be a sweet deal but those scare me. I saw a bunch of them defective at various Best Buy stores when shopping for one for my living room. Just a heads up.

The Sammy's though are quite sweet. As are the LG's. I'll get a pic up of my LG 32" LCD soon.

CoryB23 if you go for the westinghouse be sure & check to see if you can get plenty of volume from it. Freind had one & said about the only way to hear it was thru his audio system, that's why some have been returned.

I avoided the Westinghouse because there was at least one model in all 4 stores I looked at them at that was lagging behind every other tv around it. Some had other flaws, but the picture they were showing look like it was slightly running in slow motion. Went with the LG and though I've only played about 20 minutes of video games on it, I'm very impressed. I'll have my living room in shape in a couple of weeks and will really break it in then.

Thank you for the tips though. Another reason we have the best community around. Everyone looks out for all of the members.

Yeah, I was curious about the ads, because I read somewhere that they were going to crack down on it. I hope that isn't true with BB though. If it is, I'll have passed up a good sale this week to get a little bit better sale then. Basically I'm torn between the Acer 22" widescreen monitor and the Samsung 22" Widescreen monitor. That Sammy will be $120 off of list price, according to the Black Friday ad. Right now, the Acer is $299, when it's usually around $350. The Sammy retails at $400, but would be avail for $280! Also, it's not an early bird deal, so it would be for the whole week.

You guys all realized that the deals on Black Friday really arent all that fantastic right? They only mark down stuff a little bit and afterward you can get about the same price. I worked at walmart back in the day and did night receiving. I was there when they opened the doors on BF. I watched an elderly couple get trampled for 3 or 4 dollars off. I promised I'd never join the barbarians at the gate.

there are very few things that are worthwhile for a black friday sale and that's why I won't be joining in on BF. If there is something that's worth my attention and effort, I'll consider it but, yes.. I agree that it's absolutely rediculous the extent that people go to to save a few bucks..

I think it's kind of how console launches are. People are there just for the fun of it. Black Friday traditionally isn't a day with the highest sales or volume... just a day with the highest customer traffic. Lucky for me, the monitor I want is a week long deal (as far as I can tell). I need to stop myself from buying it now, and just price-matching the price on BF.
