Calling All Female Gamers

After reading Peench's Post on the Election drive of Gamers I got to thinking (scary): who are the female gamers? Statistically they make up 40% of all gamers, but I think I have only gamed with one girl ever on XBox Live. I think we also have one female on the boards here.

So here is the mission: let's get more females to play the 360 and become Lobbyists. As almost half of our gaming ranks their participation in the community matters.

Chime in as to what you think of this idea (am I just crazy), and if you are a female (a real female - not some cyber-tranny) then speak up! Connect with other female gamers on this site and let's truly see that 40% represent on 360 and in the various Live Lobbies that we get going through our little clan.

Great topic Fragmintz! I to have only played with a few girls one being Swagger and the other is PMS fedaykin and then some random girl when I was playing marble blast. Unfortunately I think alot of girls get scared away from the online community because of what is said to them the entire time they are online. I get annoyed enough having to hear some 12 year old run his mouth the entire game, I can't imagine what it is like to hear someone making sexual and gender related remarks the entire game. In the few times that I have played with girls I try to stick up for them and if I am hosting I boot the loud mouth that can't just chill out. Anyway with that said I would love to see more girls gamers especially here at PGL, of course I hope they all aren't as good as Swagger. LOL

That's exactly what I want to stir up here - we need better gaming thru our community. Women should feel comfortable to be as passionate and dedicated as men in the online gaming community.

As a married man, I'd really like to see my wife doing some online play. We already have the hurdle to clear of her not being intimidated by a controller that so deviates from the easy to use two button or four button nintendo controllers, but if we have to deal with trash talking and sexual innuendo online our community is stunted.

Lastly, I think if there were other females she could talk to, they'd find empowerment together and be able to encourage each other, (plus it would be awsome to have another person in the house saying "honey we need to buy GOW this weekend")!

Are you serious? You need to play Live more bro! Or at least get some of the Gamerchix<-- click it, on your friends list.

We have about 5 or 6 ladies here though, and they are all very nice.

My better half is a member of Trixie's GamerChix and plays frequently with them. 253 on the leaderboard specifically

My golf buddy's wife actually plays more than he does (virtual golf I mean).

It just depends. Most girls aren't going to be into games that attract a younger, male, rude crowd.

I'd search around things like Table Tennis.

I've come across a lot of female gamers, mostly during R6 3 matches a couple years ago. They would get the usual comments shouted towards them and they'd proceed to lay the smack down on the rude boys making such comments.

A lot played MechAssault too if I recall, oh and Ghost Recon(the 1st one). They love the shooters!

Unfortunately they count playing solitaire on your pc as a statistic, so that 40% is very misleading.

I've played with a bunch of girl gamers. I don't see why people treat girl gamers differently from guy gamers, sexism on Live is retarded. If a girl is in my party and a guy starts making rude remarks I boot him or tell him to stfu.

Girl gamers have thick skin though, they can take a lot of verbal abuse. i think thats why they're so good(*cough*swagger*cough*), nothing shuts up a 12 year old like getting the shit kicked out of him by somebody with a Hello Kitty gamerpic.
