you get the codes, but the gold plated wpns can be unlocked through normal play, not sure what you have to do, but if you can't get it at midnight, or not buying from gamestop, don't worry, you can still unlock the pimp gun.

Oh really? I might not bother with the LE then. Aside from the gun code, I could take or leave everything it comes with.

I really hope all the guns can be "Goldified". A golden torque bow would be awesome.

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and I'm a total gearshead. Aftrthought told me you guys were rockin' to play gears with.

I'm definitely going to that midnight release, gots to have the pimp weapons. I heard you cannot unlock the gold lancer in game but the gold hammerburst you can, anyone know whether that's true or not?

Welcome Tesla. Keep an eye on the "A PGL Friend" XBL account. If you see a bunch of people playing Gears, it's probably us... or just add Pickle to your List. If there's a Gears lobby, he's usually in it.

I'm not sure if only certain wpns are unlockable for gold, only heard that you would be able to attain them in the game anyway, kinda like the wpns you get in some fps, you get codes to unlock immediately, but you can unlock them later anyway. Codes may be reusable though, just like the Rainbow Vegas 2 guns that you had a code for was generic and on the internet .05 sec after the games' release.
I know for sure that Epic has stated that not all wpns in Gears will get the gold treatment. Now they didn't state that this was just the lancer and Hammerburst either. Could this mean all guns except the heavy wpns like mortar and mulcher (mounted gatlin gun). Hmmm. I'd like 1 golden scorcher please. LOL.

Speaking of the new Gears. I really hope they make the AI counterparts in Gears 2 actually work. I just played through Gears on PC this past weekend and I must have forgotten just how bad Dom was. Most of the time he would die and I would have to leave cover to revive him. The lengthened Act 5 was pretty awesome, but fighting the Brumak wasn't really a big deal. Being able to ride a Brumak in Gears 2 should be awesome tho.

I don't know why I'm excited about golden weapon's but I'm strangely attracted to them.

@Supafreak I don't know why they say the meatshield is a new thing to Gears 2, I think Dom is the original meatshield in the campaign of gears1 lol. I agree though, and I think they've made it a lot better.

@Wilson I bet you got flamed nicely by the people who didn't catch that it was a joke.

A.I. is supposed to be done by the same guy that programmed the UTIII bots, and for those that have played, know that it's better to play against humans than play against any bots harder than the "hard" setting. And best of luck surviving godlike. So I would imagine the bots on your team will be better, but only as good as the difficulty you are playing against.

Here's a thought. Epic has repeatedly stated that w/ Gears 2, the wpn achievements will only count one per match. So if you get like 12 sniper rifle kills, only one of those count, and the same for each pwr wpn. And yet, there are no wpn specific achievements to earn. Could Epic have made it so you only get one kill per match w/ the wpns and getting a 100 or 500 kills w/ each wpn doesn't give you an achievement, but instead gives you the golden wpn. Pure speculation on my part that I had today. And I must mention it's amazing the things one will think of w/ only 4 hrs of sleep and driving in a car for 3 hrs trying to stay awake.

If those bots are anything like the bots from Perfect Dark Zero then god help us. You wouldn't even see them and they'd get a headshot on you.

That's not a bad theory about the weapons but as I am definitely getting that LE I kinda hope you're wrong about it

NOTE! When you buy the LE you get a map pack with a bunch of remakes. I don't think they will be available any other way at launch.
