In the Japanese gaming world most look to the US and their crazy Xbox with disdain. It is no wonder that MS has had a rough time of it in Japan. While they are certainly doing better than their last go around, they are still having a tough time competing with Nintendo and Sony on their home turf.
Well it seems that Sony is having a bit of a turf brawl of their own... and seem to be on the receiving end of a beat down. Publisher Enterbrain tracked sales of the PS3 and Wii over 26 weeks ending on September 23, 2007. Their tracking revealed that the Wii outsold the PS3 more than 4 to 1. Wow. That's a fairly significant outselling.
About 1.6 million Wii's sold, while only 385,492 sold during this time frame. I do find it odd that the PS3 sales are a specific number, while the Wii sales are "about," but lets hope that it was simply rounded up or down for arguments sake and not as a result of any wrongdoing.
I guess it goes back to the
POLL we had here a few weeks ago where by a vote of 49 to 12, we all agreed that games sells systems more than systems sell themselves.
